"People say that you can only drown in the color blue, but I was drowning in your soft green eyes."

Cody groaned, as his mother sternly glared at him from the other side of the FaceTime call.

"You promised Blake you'd pick him up from school." His mother repeated once more, "And you promised Jade you'd come into Blake's school for career week."

Sighing, Cody finally agreed to the gig. All he simply had to do was walk into career day, explain he played baseball for a living, take Blake to McDonalds then drop him back off to Jade.

Atleast that's all he thought he was gonna do.

Cody walked into the elementary school with a Dodgers hoodie, grey sweats, a royal blue LA cap, and a black backpack with a couple of signed baseballs for the children.

He turned the corner, approaching door 0-03, glancing in the window as a gorgeous tan girl with eyes of salt, messy curls in her perfect brown hair, and ever so soft tan skin with light freckles under her eyes and across her nose.

She sat in the back corner of the room, the children cuddled near and around her, as they gazed at her in awe of whatever mesmerizing thing she was telling them about.

The girl looked to him like a real life Disney princess, as she braided a small girl's hair, and giggled with them.

As soon as Cody had realized he had been staring at the girl for too long, he knocked on the door, all of the childrens eyes darting towards his from through the glass.

He saw the girl tell all the kids something, before they all calmly got up and went back to their desks, her following, as she approached the door. She reached for the doorknob and slowly stepped aside to let him in, giving him a warm smile as she welcomed him.

As soon as everyone saw Cody, lots of the childrens eyes widened, excited. They were in the heart of LA, a few miles away from Dodger Stadium and here comes Cody Bellinger for career day.

But all Cody could notice was the girl, the girl he was sure was not the actual teacher, if that made it any better.

"Alright everyone, we have another very special guest." The girl warmly said, "Blake's Godfather Cody is here to talk to us all about his career!" she softly exclaimed, "Please be paying attention and be thinking of some questions to ask Mr. Bellinger at the end."

As asked, the children behaved and nodded as Cody began his presentation.

"Who here wants to play sports when they're older?" He started with, as many of the childrens hands shot up, "Okay. Now who here wants to play baseball— or softball— when they grow up?" He continued.

The number of hands did not decrease as they all stared at him wide-eyed, and noticed Blake, in the back, with the biggest smile ever.

And to think Cody wasn't looking forward to this.

The children's concentration level hadn't decreased throughout his speech. If anything, their attention had grown. They had all been fascinated by his batting gloves, hat, and black bag that they still had no idea what it consisted of. But all Cody could look at was the girl.

The way his heart beated when she looked at him, and the warmth he felt as her eyes traveled the room of children in affection for their little angel faces.

As he finished his speech, he began to open up his bag. None of the kids removed their eyes from him, staring at the black bag as he picked a single baseball out of it and asked the girl in the front, "Want one?"

She nodded in excitement, her little hands taking the ball as her grin grew wider. All the other children watched, eagerly waiting for their own.

"What're you all looking at?" Cody asked.

The classroom fell silent, a couple children blinking as the 'teacher' sort of frowned.

"I'm kidding!" He chuckled, "everyone gets one!" Cody exclaimed, starting to toss baseballs out to everyone.
