Oh my god the drama in this chapter is unmatched it's so unnecessary
Mady always had the tradition of inviting all of her friends and family over for Christmas, and somewhere in that process the whole team started showing up on Christmas Eve.
The holidays were always her and Corey's favorite time of the year. Everyone was in great spirits, lights were glowing bright, and not to mention all the cooking, eating, and gifts for everyone!
Mady was just putting out the fruit plate when the guests started arriving.
The first to arrive was Cody and his daughter, with the Kershaws literally right behind them.
A few minutes later, the doorbell rang again and her best friend Kacie jumped right into her arms with a bottle of their favorite wine in her hands. Behind her was her boyfriend Christian, who'd just finished up with USA's close World Cup run.
"Omg, you are not gonna believe who I convinced to come!" Mady exclaimed as the warmth of Kacie's jacket left her body.
"Who!" She asked
"Belles coming in from Atlanta!"
"What! She didn't tell me!" Kacie's jaw dropped.
Don't get Kacie wrong, she was ecstatic that her older sister was coming, but seeing that Cody was also here she wasn't quite sure how that was gonna roll over. If Belle hated you, she hated you... and there was absolutely no going back. Even when Kacie and Cody were in a relationship Belle acted harshly towards Cody because she wanted him to treat her little sister right, but Belle always had a different way of going about it...
Kacie slowly turned around to Christian and stepped aside, "Chris, you can go in! Mady and I are just gonna catch up!"
Christian sort of laughed and walked past the two. They were inseparable.
"Mady," Kacie whispered, pulling her aside to the dining room near the door, "We have a huge problem..."
"Why? What! Are you and Christian fighting?" the bubbly girl asked.
"No, about Belle!"
"Why?"
"Belle is... well errr—"
"Heartless b!tch?"
"Perfect way to describe her, and with Cody here I dunno about it..." the shorter brunette grimaced.
"Oh, don't worry. She told me she wouldn't threaten him until she was drunk. As per Christian, she told me she'd stick with glaring."
"Oh," Kacie tipped her head to the left, "Well that's alright I guess."
"I've got your back, like always!" Mady winked as she slung an arm over her best friends shoulder and they walked inside.
"It's so cute in here! I love the blankets on the couch," Kacie grinned as she glanced at all the little Christmas trees and festive decorations around the house.
