CYA CAPTAIN
They were just finishing Christmas dinner when the commotion began.
Leighton had been on Christian's ass all night since Belle wasn't.
It was like a sibling war. If Belle wanted to make new problems with Cody, he'd make problems with Christian.
Belle and Leighton didn't get along. Kacie was always the peacekeeper growing up when it came to the three of them. When they got older, they set their problems aside but if there was ever an argument or two sides, it was definitely between Belle and Leighton.
"How'd Kacie go from Cody to you?" Leighton asked, taking another swig of his beer as it was now just him, Christian, and Belle left in the dining room.
"Leighton, would you leave him alone?" Belle glared at her younger brother.
"What? If you aren't going to hound him I guess it's my job." he spat.
"Don't listen to him," Belle said lowly to Christian.
"No, let's talk." Leighton continued, "You wanna date my sister, I wanna hear about you."
"I grew up in Pittsburgh and I play soccer." Christian shrugged, unphased by Leighton's questions, but definitely uncomfortable with him and Belle fighting on either side of him.
"What do you love about Kacie?" Leighton pressed.
"I think she's really kind and pretty," Christian replied, "We just kinda clicked from the start and it's gone pretty well since then."
Belle nodded in approval, happy with Christians answers before taking a glance at Leighton. He had that slick look on his face, like he was planning something.
She gave him one of her cold gazes, which he was so used to by now he merely shook it off.
"It's snowing!" yelped a young voice from the kitchen, presumably one of the Kershaw kids since they had the best vocabulary.
"Snowing in LA?" Belle asked herself, seeing it as a perfect way out for Christian to not be totally messed with by Leighton, "Let's go see!" she exclaimed, ushering both Christian and Leighton up with her and towards the back door.
Christian walked out to see one of the two Freeman twins in Kacie's arm, as she held out a hand towards the tiny amount of water droplets that were coming down and starting to form the tiniest amount of snow, dissolving into the air just before it hit the turf near Mady's covered pool.
