Kacie had her hair down with a red loose-fitting jumpsuit on. She wasn't quite sure what to wear to this little 'date', probably because the only dates she'd ever been on were with Cody, and they were always super fancy.
Not to mention, that her closet was mainly filled with cute little dresses and shoes that she somehow managed to teach in.
Approaching the coffee shop, she fixed her hair in the tinted windows as she passed them and went towards the door, pulling it open, phone in hand.
There against the back wall sat Christian, his head up, almost in relief, that she'd walked in.
He was dressed in full Puma. A white shirt, socks, and black shoes, along with black baggy cargo pants that she assumed were Puma.
"Surprised I showed up?" Kacie joked, as she approached the table and sat down.
"A little," he laughed, "With the way we were texting either of us sounded very thrilled,"
Kacie grinned at his smile, "Yeah, I don't think I've ever met someone that texted as dryly as me in my life!"
Christian laughed at her remark, then the pair went up to order.
They each ended up ordering their signature black coffee, nothing crazy, just simple.
Though they did share a small quarrel when they got to the register because Kacie didn't want him to pay for her. But Kacie eventually gave up, despite being so persistent on not wanting him to pay.
Next, they went back to their table and chatted away.
It turned out they were both from Pennsylvania, and grew up about 2 hours away from each other.
They talked about American sports — like baseball and football. His favorite team was the Cubs, ever since he was invited to Wrigley for a promotion and to hang out years ago. He liked the New York Jets, despite how bad they were, and believed they would eventually pull together. (Although they both shared a laugh about how they both knew they wouldn't anytime soon)
Not to mention their long talk about how weird the Britts were, with their weird slang and random hangups and strange humor. Also when they make fun of American accents. That was annoying.
"What about things you miss about America?" Christian asked.
If this was rapid fire, Kacie would've said Cody without a second thought, but she luckily had time to think.
"My friends and family," she replied, "Everyone's so far away." Kacie frowned.
"Yeah. Me too. Are you planning to go back anytime soon?"
"Not really. I mean... I've thought about it— but not really."
"Well, if you wanted to- I'm probably gonna go back home to see my family in California. I mean- if you're even interested. I think you're really cool." he spoke quickly and stuttered.
Kacie smiled at his awkwardness, the past two hours they'd shared more laughter and talked about topics she'd never thought she'd ever talk about but always wanted to. They really hit it off. And she thought he was pretty cool too.
"If you can set a date, I'd love to go! And it'd also be nice to get to know you better." she blushed.
"Okay- yeah, I'll totally get on that. If you want we can also like hang a few more times before we go if you aren't comfortable or-"
"I'm free anyday, it's Summer break for me too. Just text me." Kacie winked, interrupting his nervous stutters to his relief.
"Okay," he laughed, "Well I gotta bounce. I've gotta recovery day scheduled over at Cobham, but I'll definitely text you."
"Alright, this was really nice!" She beamed, getting up as he followed.
They walked outside and shared a hug. Thanking each other once more, before saying goodbye. Just for the image of one another to plague their minds for the next few days, wondering when they'd see each other again.
