The Dodgers took a huge win that night, putting them up 1-0 in the series, inching them closer to their dream of another World Series.

Cody was just leaving, but still had to go find Madisyn to get Cassidy before he left.

They were gonna meet just outside the clubhouse, so Cody took a little longer to get showered and everything since he didn't have to go anywhere to find Mady.

When he walked out, Mady was nowhere in sight. It was just Kacie and Cass, along with the diaper bag slung around Kacie's shoulder.

"Where's Mady?" he asked, not even looking at Kacie as he glanced either way to find Madisyn, then back at his daughter.

"Something came up with the Seager's and Leighton," Kacie responded, shyly. Afterward handing Cassidy to Cody as she stepped back and looked down.

"Well thanks," Cody shrugged.

"Cody, can we talk?" Kacie asked finally.

"No, I don't wanna talk to you." Cody replied, beginning to walk off.

"Cody, wait!" she yelled, but he continued to walk, "I'm sorry. I'm sorry." Kacie pleaded, staring at the back of Cody's shirt as he stopped dead.

The tall man didn't even turn and look back at her. Kacie could tell he was looking down as his head moved a little bit. Cassidy was babbling and waving her hands around, which eased the silence and tension a little bit.

"Save it, Kacie." Cody turned coldly, his blue eyes growing beady as he eyed her like a snake.

Kacie watched as he looked away from her and began walking again, down the long dim-lit hall, and then out the exit...
