Cody pulled up to the front of the school, his grey BMW reflecting the sun as he carefully adjusted the car into a parking spot.
Kacie picked up her tote bag from next to her, kissing Cody on the cheek and thanking him before getting out of the car.
As her Birkenstocks lightly tapped the ground, she felt a hand intertwine with hers.
Looking up, she saw Cody next to her, gazing down into her bright eyes.
"5 minutes? Please?" He pleaded, knowing he'd told her he'd just drop her off.
"Fine," Kacie playfully groaned as they walked in together.
Once Kacie reached her classroom, she realized nothing had changed here. The door was still locked shut and it was the same room. Nothing had been rearranged since she had been given the classroom after the old teacher she was assisting retired.
Pushing the door open, she glanced at Cody, who was staring straight into the room.
Kacie set her stuff down, wasting no time to start up the computer and projector.
Cody slid his fingers across the desks before taking a peek at Kacie.
He saw that nothing changed about her. The way she was already writing and adjusting the lesson plans, how she typed, the way her eyes looked when she was focused.
He delicately approached her desk, kneeling down as he rested his elbows sideways on the desk and his face on top of his arms.
"Hey," Cody said.
Kacie looked down at him and giggled, shaking her head as he repeated the same way he charmed her into a date.
"You're taller than I thought," he continued.
"Not tall, you're just tiny."
"So I was wondering..."
Kacie raised an eyebrow, a pretty smile on her face.
"If I could take you out tonight?" Cody asked, his hand inching towards hers as their fingers intertwined.
Kacie resisted the urge to laugh, as she squeezed his hand and softly told him, "Of course,"
Cody grinned, his eyes still sad but bright, "I will see you tonight, Miss Moore."
"Cya later, Mister Bellinger."
Cody left the classroom, quickly walking down the hall before his extreme attachment to Kacie kicked in and he wouldn't be able to leave.
