Kacie nervously exhaled as she kept her eyes on Christian. Her alerted expression had faded and turned more into a disappointed frown.
They couldn't just sit here forever. They had to leave at some point.
And it seemed Cody, Chris, and Clayton weren't leaving anytime soon.
The three were seated a couple of tables behind them, and had to pass them on the way out.
"Let's just go," Kacie finally declared, "I promise I won't freak out on him," Kacie laughed.
At this point it was mainly Christian keeping them there, as he still didn't know all the details of what happened with the two while Kacie was gone, but he wanted her to be comfortable.
"Are you sure?" he asked, as she got up.
"Yeah, let's go."
Christian followed Kacie out as they approached the table the three men were seated at, Christian making his way up next to her as they were now standing in front of it. Unfortunately, they couldn't just pass it by because Clayton had already made eye contact when they'd walked into the restaurant and as they were trying to pass.
"Hey what're you guys doing here?" Christian asked nonchalantly, as Chris and Clayton smiled and they each shook hands. Afterward, he turned to Cody and shook his as well.
Kacie awkwardly stood beside him as the boys acknowledged her as well, besides Cody, of course.
"I thought you were going to Vegas?" Clayton asked, making small talk with Christian who he'd talked to at Chris's auction a few months back.
"Yeah, but we're training at UCLA before we hop on the plane in a day or two here."
"Sweet."
"Alright well we're gonna get goin'," Christian said as he put his arm around Kacie and smiled at her.
"Okay, you two don't have too much fun," he winked
Christian laughed as he once again politely told everyone goodbye, Kacie only exiting with a small wave.
"You sure are good at making friends," Kacie twinkled as they walked outside.
"You gotta just always be kind, Kace," Christian replied, their hands interlocking as Kacie laid her head against his shoulder.
