"She's adorable!" Mady exclaimed as Kacie looked up from her phone to Mady across the table.
"Who?" Kacie asked, who'd zoned out while replying to messages from her sister.
"Oh," Mady trailed, contemplating if she should tell Kacie who.
Kacie lifted an eyebrow.
"Cody's daughter," Mady croaked.
"Oh," Kacie nodded, "What's her name?"
Mady repeated the question to whoever was on the other side of the phone, as they replied, "Cassidy."
"Cassidy," Mady reiderated to Kacie as she nodded.
Kacie went back to what she was doing as soon as she heard Cody's voice in the background, taking a sip of her water.
As soon as Mady hung up, she started gushing at how lovely the baby was, and that her middle name was, 'Corey,' which Kacie could tell brought tears to her eyes.
"That's cute," she agreed, trying not to be resentful towards Cody for a couple moments.
"I can't wait to meet her!" Mady enthused, as Kacie could only force up a smile at her best friend's excitement, "Should I ask to watch her while Cody's at games? Or what about when he's out of town!"
"Maybe!" Kacie grinned, only cheery at the fact that Madisyn seemed happy, which hasn't been the case at all for the past month or so.
Finally, Mady settled down and realized Kacie looked a little uncomfortable, "Sorry for the rave..."
"No it's fine, I get it," Kacie nodded as she looked down and pretended to get a notification on her watch, just so Mady couldn't see how conflicted she was. Afterward, Kacie plastered a huge smile on her face and assented, "I'm sure she's precious."

Kacie pressed send on the email as she kicked back on the couch next to Max and Brandon. Chelsea wanted to go to the game, so Kacie said she'd watch the boys because she was staying home anyways.
Since she obviously wasn't returning to London anytime soon, the past couple of days have been Kacie sorting out with her boss that she wouldn't be able to come back and teach for a while.
After what happened two weeks ago with Cody, she couldn't wait for Corey's case to be settled so she could go back to London and forget about Cody without ever looking back.
She said some pretty messed up things, but she never thought in a million years she'd be called the B-word by Cody Bellinger.
Kacie finally snapped out of her thoughts as Charlie jumped up onto the couch and peered onto her computer screen.
"Yuck," he declared with a sour expression.
"What?" Kacie asked with a laugh.
"Lots of words, Miss Kacie."
"You'll learn how to write this many words when you get older," she grinned.
"No," he replied, reaching for the TV remote before clicking the 'on button'. The image of Dodger Stadium lit the screen, before panning to Kershaw on the mound and Freddie at first base, "I'm gonna be like Dad!" Charlie exclaimed, "So I don't have to know any words."
"For sure, Char," Kacie giggled before adjusting his gold chain, sitting back with her other arm around the
Soon enough, Cody was now on her screen as he stood bored in centerfield.
Kacie hadn't seen him in awhile considering he'd been traveling every other week and caring for his newborn all while getting the custody situation settled as well, according to Mady.
Her phone buzzed from next to her, as she opened it up and realized it was Christian.
