The dim lighting showed lightly on the pair's faces as they entered the venue. It was quiet, considering they'd arrived a little late, though there were many people up and socializing, and examining the sports treasures that were to be auctioned.
"Do you have your jerseys?" Kacie turned to Christian and asked.
Christian had offered to give away two signed jerseys for the cause, one being his USMNT jersey, and the other one bing from Chelsea.
"Yeah,"
"Alright, let's go put it up,"
Christian nodded, following Kacie towards the auction table, where other merch signed by countless other notable athletes sat in cases and on mannequins.
She even saw a Seager jersey.
"CT?" Kacie asked, noticing the man behind the table that was digging through some box on the ground.
"Yeah?" she heard him reply, his head still in the box, before it popped up from behind the table.
"Kacie!" He exclaimed, reaching to give her a hug from behind the table, then turning to Christian, shaking his hand and thanking him for coming.
"We have the jerseys," she smiled, as Christian handed them to him.
"Thank you guys so much, I mean- really." He gratefully said, taking them both delicately as he set them down on the table behind him, "Everyone here in LA has really missed you,"
"I've missed everyone just as much," Kacie replied, eyes periodically searching the room for all of her old friends, "Where are they all?"
Chris' eyes traveled towards the stairs, then held out a finger that motioned her to go up.
"Thanks," she beamed, "Cya in a few,"
Chris nodded to the pair, as Kacie turned back to Christian, as he said, "See anything you want?"
"Not particularly. You?"
"I may have to go for the Kershaw jersey," he replied, eyes meeting the signed #22.
"We're gonna be poor by the end of night if we try for that thing." She laughed.
"Yolo."
