Chapter. 21

My phone buzzing in my head snaps me out of my dazed- Fanfiction- reading self. It's a text from my old friend Zack. Oh Zack, I completely forgot about him. My friend from my childhood, before I was locked in the confines of my own property. Je was my next door neighbour until he moved away to who knows where.
Opening up the text I realize that it is a screen shot, Maroon 5, playing at Rogers arena, Vancouver, Canada. The caption says 'join me'. My heart leaps out of my chest. Is he inviting me to a Maroon 5 concert at our destination? Maybe the others will let me go, or maybe we will all go. Leaving my phone on my bed, I rush downstairs. to confront everyone.
Ethan is sitting in the drivers seat, driving of course. Carter and Cody are sitting at the kitchen table playing cards and Mandy and Scarlett are captivated in a intriguing conversation from what I can hear. I don't even try to get their attention, I just speak, hoping they will all listen.
"How about a Maroon 5 concert?"
Mandy is the first one to jump up and start balling the words 'yes' and 'omg'. Cody followed and the tow of the sat on the ground balling their eyes out. Die-hard Maroon 5 fans, Im guessing. Scarlett, who seems like she has been deep in thought since I spoke, gets up and walks around Mandy, making her way over to me.
"I think a concert will be a great break, I'll buy the tickets, though Natalie, Im guessing you don't need one." She winks at me and I give her a confused look, how did she know?
I shrug it off, laugh and hug her before running back upstairs, leaving her and Carter to deal with Mandy and Cody. I quickly dial Zacks number once I have flopped on my bed and picked my phone up.
"Hello?" A shiver runs through my body as I hear his voice for the first time in so many years.
"Zack?" I manage to choke out his name.
"Natalie? Oh my god, it's so nice to hear your voice again! It's been so long! I take it you got my text?"
I find myself nodding, even though I know he can't see me. When Zack and i were fifteen, seen months before he moved away, we kinda had a 'thing', I wonder if the feelings ever left, for him of course, I can't think of what feelings I might have for him, I have Carter now.
"Yeah! I got it, do you mind if I bring some friends?"
"Of course, though, the night not be sitting with us, I got special seats."
I squeal, super excited.
"Oh god Zack! You are to amazing! I am so excited to see you after all these years.."
I trail off, I know he's smiling, it's like I can feel it.
"Yeah Ditz, it'll be totally awesome, I can't wait to see you, tomorrow? Yeah, tomorrow, I'll call you later."
I smile at the old nickname and hang up. Every inch of t body is coursing with energy. Do I still have feelings for him? No. I shake off the question that I asked myself and clutch my phone to my chest. I haven't seen him in so many years and besides, Carter is all I could have ever asked for. He's perfect for me, It has even been written into legends and myths, from what Scarlett has told me.
Sighing, I decide to go back downstairs. Feet and then heads pop into view. Mandy is sitting on the couch, on her phone, looking at pictures of Adam Levine, probably. That's how she seems to compose herself nowadays. Cosy is chugging a glass of milk that Carter refills every time he finishes a glass. Ethan is still driving, concentrating hard on the road. He must be tired. Scarlett is sitting in the passengers seat, typing furiously on her computer most likely finding good seats for everyone.
Finally I decide to sit down next to Mandy and snap her out of her trance.
"Hey Mands" I smile, wrapping an arm around her. "Whatchya up to?"
"Adam..." I can tell she's dazed. Pictures o a shirtless Adam Levine pop up on her screen as I giggle at her reaction.
"Okay, time to put that away."
I take her phone and put it on a table as from from her a possible. She just stares at her hands, still dazed. Im surprised that she doesn't even protest.
"Excited?"
Her eyes shoot yo and a wide smile appears on her face.
"God yes! I have been waiting to go to a Maroon 5 concert for my entire like! Like, Adam Levine is just so hot! And oh! Maybe he will pull me me up on stage to sing with him! And merchandise, I would so, totally but everything!"
He rambles more, her hands gesturing and moving as she speaks. I zone out after about ten minutes. good job Nat, now she is never going to shut up. I smile to myself. I have a really good feeling about this.

OH MY GOSH ITS AN UPDATE! Yes, I knows this so so late, I am actually currently working on two new stories and two new fanfictions so yeah, I have alit on my plate + I have school and sports and man, I just realized how busy I am. But anyway, I hope you guys enjoy! I have no idea how I'm supposed k write the next chapter but I'll figure it out, of anyone has any suggestions I will gladly take them! - C
