We are all lying on the dry green grass of my back yard, drying out bathing suits. it's hilarious to think and know that I am actually here with friends. friends. people that I never thought I knew. We are playing would you rather, a game I have only played a couple of times in my life.
"Ok ummm Mandy, would you rather... dive off a cliff head first or go skydiving?" Cody asks.
Mandy taps her pointer finger at her chin.
"What's at the bottom of each?" he says eyeing Cody carefully.
" Alligators, loads and loads if alligators."
He says like it was obvious.
She gives herself face palm.
"Ok I think I will dive head first off of the cliff, I think that works."
We all laugh, hard.
"Ok ok my turn " I say " Carter, would you rather, all of us watch movies or all of us order pizza later tonight?"
Everyone laughs.
" Both" says Cody.
I smile and get up.
"Well what are we waiting for? Cody you order the pizza, Mandy you find some movies, and Carter you and I will get some blankets and pillows, yeah?"
"Okay" they all say in sync.
We all get up and run around. About fifteen minutes later we all round up in the living room.
Pillows and blankets litter the floor.
Pizza and movies are stacked on the coffee table.
" This is going to be so awesome!" Carter says as he fist pumps the air.
" Yeah but first we need to talk about a few things..." Mandy says.
She leans in a whispers something to me.
"They know about the glowing and everything, the figured it out."
I take a deep breath. ok so the time had come to talk about it.
"Ok I know you guys know... my birthday is in two days! And uh, with everything weird that has been going on, I don't know what to expect."
Mandy scoots over to me and gives me a hug.
" All we can do is hope for the best, I mean, you have a stone in your chest and you glow, I mean that can be the worst of it right?"
I look at her, eyes growing beady.
"Wha- what do you mean?"
They all sigh.
"It's almost your eighteenth birthday" Carter says. "Therefore we have all come up with the solution that all of this supernatural stuff is connected to your eighteenth birthday."
I just stare at him wide eyed.
"Anyway let's watch a movie!! ummm what one?"
Mandy and I jump up and scream.
"FROZEN!""
Cody puts the movie in the DVD player and the movie starts.
