I can't do it. I just can't do it.
I'm standing at the edge of my driveway. only enough I haven't been shocked yet. I can't leave I just can't knowing something bad will happen to me. I have no idea what the outside world is like.
I drop to the ground and put my head in my hands.
I don't know how I have done this over the years. Doing the same things day in and day out. I don't have many real friends to be honest. just my neighbours. I mean social media isn't enough either. I just don't know what to do anymore like what's so bad with totally wanting to die?
I ease my back onto the pavement and cover my eyes with my hands.
" Natalie? Are you ok?"
I look up to see Carter standing over me.
I quickly push myself up off the ground and dust myself off.
" I am great thank you for asking how are you?"
He cocks his head to the side as if saying 'did you really just shrug my question off?' but be replies in a lazy tone.
" Mid terms are done but I still have a weeks worth of exams, how is school coming for you?"
I breath in heavy and answer, my voice tight.
" School is fine, I am done mid terms and exams, straight A's accords the border, my school gets stuff done fats I guess."
We stand there in an awkward silence.
" We'll I guess I should be going" I say as I begin to walk away but he grabs my arm.
"Why do you always avoid me? what have I done to you?"
I yank my hand away and reply.
"Absolutely nothing,"
I then carefully walk up my driveway and I to my house. why is it that I always walk away from him?
I sigh and walk into the kitchen.i haven't had breakfast yet, or lunch for that matter.
I rummage through the kitchen cupboards to try and find some waffle mix. I finally find some.
Pouring some mix into a bowl I pour some milk in and then mix.
After a few minutes a nice lumpy batter comes out. I smile at what I accomplished. I pour the batter into the waffle maker and then close the lid, it's should take about fifteen to twenty minutes to cook. I sigh and look at my phone, twelve new text messages. twelve! why so many?
Unlocking my phone I see that they are all from Mandy, what could she possibly want?
Every messages was her saying my name and normally when she does that she is going to ask if she can come over.
I sigh and reply.
'Yes, yes mand you can come over, give me five'- N
She replays back almost instantly.
'Yayayayyayaya thankies, I'll see you in five!!!!!'- M
I laugh at her reply and dish my waffles out of the waffle maker. I slap them onto a plate and drizzle syrup all over them, with the touch of some strawberries. I am just about to dig in when Mandy comes waltzing through the door. when she sees the plate she instantly screams.
"Are those waffles!!!"
I motion for her to come sit with me.
"Yeah come sit with me, I won't be able to eat all of this on my own."
She instantly takes a seat an digs into the waffle. We sit for what seems like forever in silence.
She looks up and me to say something but no words come out of her mouth. all the food that she had been chewing is now either on the plate or the table.
I glare at her.
"What?"
Her eyes widen as she snaps back to her senses.
"Y- Your g- g- glowing!"
