Darkness Glows

Chapter.8

I sit on the couch and watch the three of them argue on wether or not Cody actually found the picture considering he can't find it again. it is so funny watching my friends be kids again knowing I they are all eighteen and I'm turning eighteen tomorrow. It's insane really.

"No! I don't think he found the legit picture cause he just pointed to a random picture on the bored then took this hand away." Mandy says acting like she is some type of crime solver.

Cody flails his arms in the air.

"I object!" he screeches "it was um.. it was right.. no wait I was over.." he examines the board trying to find the picture.

I sigh at his pathetic attempt on winning the fight.

"How about you all half the points? won't that work? you are all still getting some points at least." I suggest pointing out the obvious.

They all look at me like I just exploded in to a million pieces.

"Why didn't we think of that!?" Carter exclaims.

I just shake my head, which is setting to hurt really bad.

"What time is it?" I ask.

It seems like we has been playing this bored game for hours.

"It is 8:34"

What!?

"That late? Mandy, can you order pizza or make dinner or something? I have a massive head ache so I'm going I go lie down." I say putting my palm against my forehead.

"Awe ok Nati, go sleep I will come and wake you up when food is here."

I smile at her kindness and get up from the couch. the minute I stand up I am hit with a wave of dizziness. In an instant Carter is standing by me, supporting me up.

"Are you sure you are going to be ok?" He asks, picking me up bridal style.

"Yeah I just need some sleep that's all."

He has nervousness written all over his face but he just nods and carries me up stairs. We reach my room and he places me on my bed. Sitting on the edge of my bed he speaks up.

"I know what this is like for you, we all do-"

I cut him off.

"You have no idea Carter."

"Yes I do, we all got a migraine the day before our birthday an then" he pauses "we started to glow. Mandy, orange, Cody, green, and I, blue. And now you, pink- purple."

I stare at him wide eyed. They all had migraines? They all glowed before their birthdays?! Why did Mandy never tell me? What does this mean? Wait...

"Carter..." I say holding my head "is there a stone in your chest? Just like me? Are there stones in all your guys' chests?"

He just simply nods. Oh what does this mean? Are we some type of race or something? What is this?

My head is really pounding now so I'm take hold of Carter's hand and slowly drift off into a restless sleep

~Dream~

'Nadalia, wake up'

My eyes flutter open. I am in a room. The walls are all black with splats of glowing blue, green, orange, and pink- purple paint on them. I am on my regular bed from my room. A arm burgundy arm chair sits to the right of me and various types if relics on a table to my left.

'Hello Nadalia, it's nice to see you are awake.'

I look around but there is no one there. Just a soft soothing voice in the air. Wait who is Nadalia? Last time I checked my name is Natalie.

"Who is Nadalia?" I ask, looking around the room.

'Why you my dear.' The voice says.

I am do confused right now.

"I'm confused, please explain."

'Alright, your name is Nadalia, Queen of the Elven Elements, magic race. You and your friends, Mahira, Caine and your lover, Carson, are the main court of the race. There are many more of your race out there and you need to go find them. Once you have found the majority you will return to the magic kingdom.'

I look at the paint splattered walls, flustered at what I have just learned. This doesn't make any sense. Non at all. I am a regular girl that has been... Locked away in her house... Move cause of a stone in her chest... Great! I am some type of elf princess that has to find her way back to a castle in the middle of an enchanted forest, location at .00 no where!!

"Who are those people?! What do you mean!? This doesn't make sense!"

I out my palm against my forehead. I no longer have a head ache but I am so hot I must have a fever at least.

'Mahira is your best friend Mandy. Caine is Carson's best friend Cody, and your lover, Carson, is Carter. You are the princess of this race. You and the rest of our kingdom were sent to this world after the war of the realms. Everything is now peaceful between the two races but now you must find the rest of your kind and go back to your world."

Well that makes more sense now.

"Thank you now might I ask where am I?"

'You are in a dream, I will now send you back, you will find everything else out that you need to know in the real world.'

My vision blurs and I can no longer see the paint splattered walls or the chair or the relics. Just black.

~End of Dream~

I wake up and see Carter starring down at me. He knows.

"Hello Nadalia, it is nice to see you are awake and better, should we go eat dinner?"

Hey everyone is this chapter confusing? If it is please be sure to comment you questions or DM me them. I know I have out a large plot twist on the story but I really though this would make it more interesting considering I had no idea what I was going to do later on in the book.
