Chapter 17

*Uday Pov*

"Mom! Do we really have to go? I want to study here only with my friends." I tried for the last time hoping she will listen but of course, I am not that confident with her acceptance.

"Why don't you help me with the packing instead of wasting your words? Do you want to give up on your inheritance to someone like Vikranth?" She asked shaking her head and pulled me in for packing the books.

"We were fine by living here until now then why..." she cut me off saying, "Before it was fine but now he got married which stabilizes his position. What if my stupid brother adds more into his will for that Vikranth and reduces yours? You should go and make your presence and show your capability."

"Why would Uncle favor me instead of his Son?" I asked under my breath not actually wishing to hear the answer but just feeling frustrated.

"Son? I will not believe it no matter what. My emotionless brother went and made someone pregnant but that woman ran away and sent their son after she died? Who does he think is listening to such a stupid story? His being in a relationship is already a huge shock and a son on top of that? He must have brought him from some place as an heir to his wealth." She grumbled.

"Why are you so sure?" I asked standing up and twisted my waist feeling tired of arranging the books in the cardboard box.

"He was against the DNA and ignored my calls when I continued to call him regarding this matter. You remember how he tried to not meet me when we went on holiday, right? He warned me from illegally testing their DNA, otherwise..." she trailed off shaking her head, and looked around to see if anything is left out.

"Still it is his wealth and he can do whatever..." she cut me off asking, "Don't you hate Vikranth?"

Of course, I hate him for making me study harder and get more pressure because of his achievements. If not for him, then my life would have been so good, and need not leave my friends like this.

"Don't worry! I will not let him take away what is yours and you will have a peaceful future." Saying that she walked out of the room while I slumped over the chair feeling tired.

I really don't want to go and see that poker face cousin and Hitler Uncle for the rest of my life. I groaned unlocking my phone to message my friends asking to meet up for the final time and party for a whole week from tomorrow.

After that, I walked out of the room to find Mom and pitifully asked for some allowance saying I need to buy some parting gifts. She gave an understanding look before sending a good amount to the account and I smirked after walking away from her presence.

This is also good as I can try to be as pitiful as I can and get more allowance. I rushed to my room to pack my things needed for a week and walked out of the house while announcing I will stay at my friend's place for a week and ignored her complaints about not helping with the packing.

It is not me who wanted to shift then why should I help. I shrugged and drove away while calling my friend to inform him I will be at his place soon and we can decide the location for the trip.

I smiled proudly still thinking of the marks I received for the recent assignment while Anitha continued to talk animatedly.

"You don't know how much she glared at me today while packing her stuff. I mean, I am not the one who asked her to get this role by unethical activities with the relative of one of the producers, right?" She asked laughing and I nodded as we are right now on a video call.
