"Then find out whether he is the right guy or not and prove it instead of judging him in this way." He calmly replied to my words while I looked away not knowing what else to say as he is right at this point.

"You go inside and calm down for now. I will take my leave." Saying that he walked away while I continued to stand there remembering Prathap's face.

Why didn't he do anything for all these months? I thought feeling anger towards him too. He gave such a hurt expression but all this could have been avoided if he had taken a step and also I need not worry about her being with any wrong person.

I closed my eyes and took a deep breath before turning around to walk to the front and as I was walking toward the steps, I found someone leaning on my car.

"Kanika?" I mumbled and walked toward her while she is looking down at the ground.

"What are you doing here?" she got startled hearing my voice and glanced up only to worry me a bit with the expression on her face.

"Did something happen after I walked out? Did they say anything?" I asked taking a step forward and placed my hand on her cheek.

She cleared her throat a few times before saying, "No! I got tired and thought you would want to leave. I already informed them that we are leaving."

"Oh! Okay!" I mumbled and I got into the car thinking it is better to leave now and talk again with proof.

However, it's not like I am completely sure that the person she chose will be bad but I just don't want there to be a chance where she can get hurt and also give some more time for Prathap to express his feelings.

I was lost in my thoughts and even Kanika didn't say anything even when we reached the house.

After walking inside, she wished me goodnight and continued to walk to the stairs and climbed them in a hurry while I frowned at her behavior.

I removed my tie and walked toward the couch and sat down before taking out my phone to call the person I generally use to investigate any person I am not sure about for business work and also the companies I try to sound out.

"I will send the details soon and I need a report as soon as possible without any delay. I will pay more for this case." I instructed before cutting the call.

I leaned back thinking about the savings for a few months that I will be using for this investigation. Then I remembered that my salary is raised and so it will not be a huge problem but I need to be careful about my expenses for the next few months.

"Here!" I opened my eyes only to stare at a whiskey bottle and I followed the hand holding it to find Kanika standing there with a disgusted look towards the bottle.

"Why are you holding it?" I asked taking it away from her hand.

"For you!" she whispered and even sat down beside me.

"You are giving me my own bottle?" I asked staring at her but she just passed a glass to my free hand and didn't say another word.

"You said you will drink when you are sad or happy. As you don't have company to go outside, you may have to drink here. However, you may not do it because of me and so I want to let you know that it's fine." She explained after I asked her why is she passing me this again.

I frowned at her words and got confused thinking about whether she thinks I am happy about Shrishti's engagement but her look doesn't seem to be pointing that.

Then is it sadness? Why would I... Right! She knew that I liked Shrishti in the past and all those things. Does she think I am heartbroken?

Why would I be? Wait! Why am I not? Why was I just upset about Prathap and about Shrishti getting into trouble but not about this? I already got over my liking for her? When?
