*Vikranth Pov*
I groaned moving around while hearing some distant sounds and started searching for warmth but ended up falling down. I opened my eyes after getting completely startled by the fall and realized I am in the living room and right now on the floor beside the couch.
After looking around in confusion I felt really cold and found my shirt is soaked completely and found a glass near my feet.
Why am I here? What actually happened? I thought checking for my phone and found it on the table before immediately calling Jay who was the one to leave a missed call a few seconds back.
"Good morning, Sir!" he greeted normally while I felt more desire to shout at him as he just left me here and even poured this water on me.
"Why did you leave me on the couch? And what is this..." before I could ask about the water, he cut me off asking, "Sir! How could I take you to the room when Madam is there?"
"Did I cause a problem for the Madam yesterday? Should I have helped her to take you to your room?" he continued and I realized that he did the right thing by not taking me to my room otherwise he would have found out about our living arrangements.
"Maybe I shouldn't have left after helping you near the couch and..." I cut him off ordering, "No need to think about this matter."
After cutting the call, I know one thing that he is not responsible for this water for sure. Why am I not remembering anything and why did I even drink this much?
Just because after hearing Aunt's taunts like usual? I shook my head and stood up along with taking the glass from the floor.
Before I could turn around, I heard footsteps and glanced up to find her climbing down the stairs while looking straight and not even glancing to the side where I am.
It was not her duty to help me to my room but still, I need to ask her about the water. I am shivering with cold because of being subjected to the air while wearing a wet shirt.
"Why is my shirt soaked?" I asked even though it is not completely soaked right now but the wetness is there.
"The glass fell down from your hands." She replied without even glancing at me and continued to walk ahead towards the main door.
"Wait a minute!" I mumbled realizing her behavior is definitely not normal and I took a step forward and she immediately took a step back.
Am I imagining things? I thought taking another step and even though there is more than ten steps gap between us, she still took another step back.
I got rooted to the spot realizing she is actually trying to avoid my presence and was going to leave the house in a hurry.
Why? Did the glass really slip or did she throw it at me? Why would she do that? I frowned staring at her and found her hands shivering while holding her bag and my eyes widened for a second before I looked away clearing my throat.
"I am sorry about the water splash and that's it." Saying those words she rushed out while I calmly turned back to sit on the couch before covering my forehead in defeat.
I can't believe the day I drank without any inhibitions, I tried to take advantage of a girl and in the end, she had to throw water at me and even feel scared about my presence itself.
"Damn it!" I hissed while throwing the glass and it is a good thing that it is made of steel and not glass.
I shook my head and stood up while taking the coat and my phone from the table and climbed the stairs not knowing what to do and how to apologize to her.
