"Give me a call after you finish your work. I will go and prepare dinner for us." Saying that she walked out of the room and I walked towards the locker to open it.

Taking the contract from the locker, I stared at it before walking out of the study room holding it tightly to not let it slip.

When I sat on the couch and placed the contract, I didn't move to turn the pages as I couldn't help but think about my action.

Don't I know that she is upset whenever I talk about the contract? And as far as I know, she knows everything by heart and she is not the one who does the things against this contract.

I need not show this to get her to understand. I frowned and moved to stand up so that I can keep this inside the locker but paused hearing her footsteps.

"I was just thinking while in the kitchen and realized what I said was wrong. It is not right to let anyone know about the divorce but I somehow made up that plan. Don't think about it." I turned to glance at her and she is smiling at me.

"I was just worried when I heard my mentor's words and didn't think straight." She added and her gaze moved to my hand which is holding a familiar file.

"This is the contract!" she stated after seeing my expression.

"Kanika!" I called her but she just shook her head and turned around to walk towards the back door and not the kitchen.

"Listen to me!" I said dropping the file on the table and followed her but it took me longer as I was hopping on my way to her.

When I finally reached the back door, I found her arranging the tubes in the garden and walked towards the tap.

"Kanika!" I called her again and immediately felt sprinkles falling on me.

"Why did you follow me? Go back! Your casts shouldn't get wet." She mumbled waving me to go back.

"I will go when you listen to me." I stated and she sighed before turning off the tap.

"No need to explain anything! You just did what you generally do. It was my mistake to bring it up, right?" She asked staring at me and I shook my head hearing those words.

"Go back!" she mumbled turning around to turn on the tap.

"This time I know I shouldn't say anything and was actually planning to keep it back." Saying that I walked towards her to stay away from sprinklers.

"I know you remember each and every rule on the contract because of my earlier words. I know that you follow the rules more than me." I mumbled reaching her side.

"And this time I took it out not with the thinking that there will be a breach in the contract but..." I couldn't continue because I just realized that the reason I took the contract out is to use it as an excuse to stop her from saying anything to that mentor.

"Then?" she asked frowning at me.

"I..." before I could continue, there is suddenly water burst on us and we both got drenched.

"You stepped on the pipe." She shouted and moved my leg which is a major one I am supporting myself and that made me nearly fall.

I held the wall for support while she turned off the tap and attached the pipe back to the tap.

"We could have had this conversation inside. Why did you follow me? Now, your casts got wet, and we need to contact a doctor soon." She mumbled frowning at me while picking up the crutches that fell in the process.
