Chapter 35

"Tired?" I glanced up hearing her voice and found her offering a glass of water for me.

I nodded taking the glass and drank the whole before mumbling, "Thanks!"

"Today is the last episode that will air for Anitha's series. Will you watch it or go and take a rest?" She asked glancing at me.

"I will watch it as I need to see whether she is included in the last credit photos and if not then have a word with the production team." She nodded and we both stayed in silence.

"How are your classes going on?" I asked as I realized how she asks about how I was doing or whether I am tired every day but I never reciprocated much about her life.

"Good! I am done with the exams and I have done well. A new course will start within a week." She replied smiling at me.

"Then what about online classes?" I asked and she sighed hearing that question.

"Why? Not going well?" I frowned seeing her reaction.

"Everything is going well but it just... nothing. I am sure the issue will get solved soon and I still have one year and two months for that to get solved." She smiled and I slowly nodded.

"I got the message about the shares. Thanks for transferring them on time like this and also thanks for increasing the share value with your hardwork." She added patting my shoulder and I smiled hearing those words.

Now, I don't feel as tired as I felt earlier. Hearing a compliment is still important for me even though many stopped doing it as they think the hard work I do is what I generally do or what I am supposed to do but no one thinks that I am doing some amazing job. However, she never fails to praise me or compliment me whenever there is a reason even for a small reason.

"Thank you!" saying that I leaned over and placed my head on her shoulder before closing my eyes.

After I got promoted, the work increased to huge levels as I had to learn how to control all the things and also because a few people are trying to trouble the company the moment I took charge.

During that time, we both talked a lot after I return home about my work but not about in-depth details, and someone we got more close than I expected, and even she is not on guard like in the beginning.

There is a sense of comfort between us right now and that doesn't make my action awkward at all.

She placed her hand on my shoulder and patted it in silence as it is not awkward for her too and this is not the first time.

Even though Prathap and Shrishti are my best friends, being with Kanika is something different and it gives more comfort as I need not be on guard or worry about other things like I do with each and every single person I know.

Another important matter is that I need not worry about any problems she has in her life as she is capable to solve them more than I sometimes but still I like to talk about them sometimes and listen only if she is comfortable sharing.

So, we talked about her Dad a lot but whenever I talk about her mother, she brushes me off. I even gave her a report on her father about his condition and he is not ready to be let out of the treatment in the near future as he is a very tough case even for the experts.

"Will she get another movie or series after this finishes? As she is doing only the commercials after finishing the shooting two months back." She asked after a few minutes.

"She asked me to give her time before she signs up for another series and also she is getting more fame and money with commercials right now. She wants to grasp as much as she can before the series finishes airing and also leaves people's mind." I explained and she nodded but I frowned.
