--Chapter 8--
*Mel's p.o.v.*
I woke up, flashbacks from last night appearing in my mind. Kate and Colleen drunk. Brian's mouth on a random girl's mouth. Joe comforting me and bringing me back here.
I sighed deeply and checked my cellphone. Kate texted me.
Kate: Please come by my house. I have a terrible hang over and my mom is out looking for pain killers.
I quickly replied "ok" and showered, hoping to remove the terrible smell of alcohol all over my body.
My parents were out again, touring California. I grabbed some jeans and a sweater I got when we moved to new York last year. I put on some white chucks. My outfit is a bit heavy duty because it's November and it's getting pretty windy.
I walked to the address Kate texted to me, taking long strides. I felt the cool breeze tickle me all over my body, making the hairs on my skin go up.
I rubbed my arms to create body heat as I stopped in front of an apartment. It was definitely fancier than mine, but all in all it was fine. I hopped on the escalator and went out. I saw a brown wooden door with the exact same door number that Kate texted me.
I slowly knocked on the door, and I heard a grunt coming from inside. I tried opening the door, and it was surprisingly open. The apartment was ok. A bit bigger than ours, but definitely more well-maintained.
"Over here Mel," I heard a weak voice call from a room.
I slowly walked to the room and saw Kate, her eyes with dark circles underneath, her body slumped in the bed like she was lifeless. "Woah what happened to you?" I asked.
"I basically got a bit too drunk, then I started vomitting everywhere," Kate said, a moan escaping her lips. "This sucks."
"That's one of the reasons why I don't drink," I teased. Kate smiled and I smiled back.
"Ok, so today you are basically my nurse," Kate mused with a laugh.
"Well," I said. "I must be the prettiest and sweetest nurse yet."
"Maybe not," Kate joked.
I laughed and went to get some water. Soon enough, the nursing thing ended up to be a two mentally retarded people laughing thing. We joked a lot. Kate teased me about Joe, I teased her about that Nathan guy from last night. But, the fun soon ended when a question was asked.
"How did your date with Brian go?" Kate asked.
"Uhm, it was fine," I replied, trying to avoid her gaze.
"Lies," she muttered. "What happened, really?"
I sighed and told her everything basically. From him being terribly conceited during our date, to the light peck on the lips that he gave me, then during the party, the worst part, when I found him kissing another girl.
Kate furrowed her eyebrows. "That ass."
"I know right," I mumbled, blowing the hair off my face. "Anyway, I have to go."
"Ok," Kate said. "Tell me when Brian does something stupid again, I'll get back to him."
"I'll try to keep that in mind." I laughed as I headed out of Kate's apartment.
I whistled as I walked along the sidewalk, happy that I got to tell Kate about last night.
Then it happened. It was so fast. All I remembered was tripping then, it was all black afterwards.
All I could see was black. What the hell was happening? It felt as if I was in a dark room, struggling to get out. I tried opening my eyelids but I simply couldn't
After the 100th time of trying, I finally opened them. I looked around the unfamiliar room.
"You woke up, I was a bit worried when you tripped," a manly voice said.
I squinted my eyes to look at the person who just spoke. "Joe?"
