Chapter 14

The Seishin basketball team continued to play games as the weeks passed on by.

Sumio continued to practice and they won a lot of games, leaving their record at 8-1.

Sumio found himself hanging around Riko, Yōu, and Chika a lot recently. Nowadays, it was only Riko and Chika since apparently Yōu had things to do after school.

And today was no excuse as Sumio headed home with the two other girls.

When they arrived to their houses, (since they lived right next to each other) Sumio began to turn home.

"See you tomorrow!" Riko said going inside her house.

"Sumio!" Chika called.

"What's up?" He turned around.

"Do you have any clue what Yōu's been up too?"

"Nope,"

"Did Tsuki tell you anything?"

"Nope. Aren't you her best friend?" He asked.

"Well yeah, but she's only at school most of the time."

"Well maybe you should ask her."

"Do you think she has a boyfriend?"

He paused. Thought for a moment and responded, "What makes you say that?"

"I mean think about it, she 'has things to do after school.'" Chika quoted. "Isn't that a bit suspicious?"

"I mean it's her life." He shrugged kicking the ground underneath him.

"You want to know too don't you!" She grinned, "Everytime you kick the ground it means you're actually interested when you say you're not!"

"Wha- How do you know that?!"

"I'm good at watching people." She said proudly.

"That's extremely creepy." He sighed before waving her off. "And I'm sure if she has a boyfriend she'll tell you eventually."

"Well why don't you check up on her? It's on the way to your house right?"

"Why would I need to do that?"

"Just say it was for me and Riko!" She said before walking inside.

"And if I fail to do so?"

"You don't want to know... actually... can you swim? If you can't you better learn..."

Well there was no fighting that he supposed. There was something very strange about that Chika.

How can someone so innocent looking be a stone cold killer?

As he inched towards Yōu's house, thoughts filled his brain. What if her boyfriend was over right now?

What if they were-

He rung the doorbell anyways.

Yōu opened the door.

"Yo-"

She slammed the door shut.

"Oi! Open up!" He banged on it.

On the other side of the door, Yōu sat down barricading the door.

"Who's that Yōu?" Her mom asked.

"N-no one!" She said.

"Oi! I know you're still there!" He yelled from outside.

"Just get the hell out of here!" Was what Yōu wanted to say. Before something really happened.

"Is he trying to break in?" She asked. "Is it robber? Honey I think it's a robber-"
