Yōu Watanabe ran as fast as she could. The sky began to darken as the clouds lay overhead. Little raindrops began to pour down upon her. It blended well with the tears running down her cheek.

She stumbled all the way over to Tsuki's house. Banging on the door loudly.

"Yōu?!" Tsuki said alarmed as she opened the door. "What happened?"

She didn't respond. Only breaking down and crying some more. Her cousin brought her up to her room and threw her some clothes.

"Go get changed. Then we'll talk after." Tsuki instructed her before heading downstairs to get her something to drink.

Yōu made her way over to the bathroom throwing on the clothes Tsuki gave her.

She reflected on what had just occurred. She rejected the guy she liked.

Yikes.

Tsuki came in, holding a cup of tea. "Drink up." Yōu managed to sip some of it. "Well... tell me what happened." Yōu didn't respond. "Was it Sumio?"

She nodded.

"Was he making out with some girl?"

"Even worse."

"Was he doing the deed?"

"No..." she said quietely, "he asked me out."

Tsuki sat there awkwardly, "Is that bad? I mean you like him so..."

"I rejected him."

A look of concern crossed the older Watanabe girl. "W-what?"

"I rejected him." She repeated.

"Why?"

"I can't do that to Riko." Yōu smiled weakly, "But you know? I liked him a lot. I still do. He's the only guy I've ever liked, but I promised Riko..."

"Yōu..." Tsuki sighed, "Sometimes, you have to put you're own feelings in front of your friend's."

"But then she'll hate me!" Yōu protested, "Like how you hated me when Shoji-"

"I never hated you." Tsuki cut her off. "I hated Shoji. Because he knew that I liked him and used that to get closer to you. And from what I can see, Sumio has no clue that Riko likes him."

"Still, I already told myself I would forget this feeling. No matter what!" Yōu said.

"Yōu..." Tsuki comforted her, "So what are you going to do?"

"Whatever I need to."

Sumio Kobayashi watched as the rain continued to pour.

His smile from before disappeared. Instead, he felt alone.

His phone rang, excitedly, he was expecting to see Yōu's contact pop up.

It didn't.

"Hello?"

"Hi!" Kotori's voice rang in his ear. "So how was the game?"

"It was fine, we won." He tried to sound more normal. It didn't work.

"Sumio? Are you alright?"

"Yeah! Never better!"

"You don't sound fine."

Sumio stopped for a moment. There was no need for him to lie. His cousin was there for him, nobody was around. He could finally be honest.

"I'm not fine. I was rejected." He said quietly.

He could hear his cousin on the other end take a deep breath. "It's fine though! I just wanted to know how she felt. And maybe... she would feel the same way."

"So you're sure you won't jump off of a bridge?"

"I'm fine, I just... hope it doesn't make things too awkward." he said. "I guess I really didn't think she'd say no."

"Yeah... well things like that happen you know? Maybe she's not the one." Kotori encouraged.

"Maybe... I don't know how fast I'll get over these feelings, but I still want to be friends with her."

"Then see how things play out tomorrow at school. That'll give you all the signs you need."

"Well, I'm gonna go home, it's pouring so I'm gonna hang up."

"Okay, but remember, I'm always here for you." Kotori reminded him.

"Thanks. See ya." He hung up the phone and walked the long journey home.

As he walked by Yōu's house, there was a slight hesitation.

You'll find out tomorrow, he reminded himself before continuing on.

Haru was home. "So? How did it go?"

Sumio had told his little sister about his ultimate plan that would one hundred percent not fail earlier that day.

"We won."

"Not that... you know..." she continued.

"Oh that. I got rejected." he shrugged and walked upstairs while Haru's mouth hung open.

There's no sense in dwelling on it right now. She said no. That means no. As in, she doesn't like you.

He sighed, it definitely stung. But, there was no point in moping about. His homework wasn't gonna do itself.

Unfortunately he might've done a little too much homework... He woke up late for school the next day.

"Haru?!" He groaned.

Stumbling down the stairs, he saw a note on the desk.

I didn't wake you up because you might be depressed.

-your little sister

He sighed, just because he got rejected didn't mean he was heart broken.

Maybe he was being a little too light hearted with the rejection. Maybe he should be depressed.

Everyone around him thought he should be, so.... why wasn't he?

Anyways, he didn't have time to think about that. He was late for school!

Charging down the streets he raced for the entry gate into the school. He saw a security guard getting ready to close it.

The two made eye contact and Sumio knew it was gonna be a close finish.

Unfortunately, the door shut right as he arrived.

"Thanks a lot!" He said sarcastically at the man.

"I'm just doing my job." He shrugged.

Sumio trudged over to the office. He received his late pass from the lady at the desk.

"That's your tenth one this semester so you have detention."

"What?!"

Behind him another person walked in, breathing heavily.

Soon the two students made eye contact.

It was Yōu.

"M-morning." Sumio said.

"Morning." She responded before getting her late pass.

"This is also your tenth one Ms. Watanabe. You have detention. Now the both of you hurry. It's in school, not after."

"Eh??" The two of them said at the same time.

To make matters worse...

"Where is everyone?"

It turns out they were alone...

Yo! Here's another chapter for you all. Hopefully you enjoy. See you!
