There were indeed four months until graduation... the only problem is...

"EXAMS ARE WHEN?!" Sumio Kobayashi yelled as Yōu and Chika covered their ears.

"Two weeks." Riko replied calmly.

"What exams are they?" the clueless student began to panic as he rummaged through his backpack looking for any information on this said exam.

"College entrance exams." Yōu answered causing him to jolt a bit. Hearing her voice after the rejection still gave him a bit of a shock. But if she was acting like nothing was different, then he would too.

"What if I'm not going to college?"

"What did you put in your last teacher interview about your career?" Chika asked stretching.

"The teacher what now?" he scratched his head.

"He is indeed a complete idiot..." they all sighed making me even more confused.

Just then, the PA system came on. "Will Sumio Kobayashi please head over to the teacher's office? I repeat, Sumio Kobayashi please head over to the teacher's office. Thank you."

"Ooh~" some of classmates echoed, including Shintaro.

"Uh oh... looks like someone's in trouble." he teased as Sumio was heading out. "Were you caught making out with a girl or something?" causing Yōu and Riko to look up in surprise.

"Of course not." Sumio slouched his shoulders, "Although I wish it was."

Because what he was in store for in the office, was definitely a lot worse than getting punished for showing public displays of affection.

"Mr. Kobayashi, it appears that somehow you've neglected to submit your career paper that includes your first choice of university or job." his home room teacher sighed. "Is there anything you'd like to become?"

"Rich. Hot. Famous."

"This is no time to be playing around!" he scolded. "Exams are just around the corner, yet you have no clue where you want to go after high school?"

"Somewhere I can play basketball I guess." he shrugged.

His teacher massaged his own temple, "Well, speaking of that Mr. Kobayashi..." he took out a piece of paper, "There is in fact somewhere that would like you to play basketball for them."

"Wait what?!" Sumio jumped out of his chair excitedly. "Then I'll go there! That's where I want to go! Wherever that is!"

"There are two things however. One, this place requires a decently high test score which I don't think you will have any problem achieving assuming you study hard. I've seen your potential and your grades shoot up when you actually try."

"Yeah yeah... what's the other thing?"

"Two, this school is not in Japan."

"Eh?"

"This is a university in Singapore which I'm sure you've heard of?"

"Well yeah I'm not that dumb." he laughed.

"They have offered you a scholarship to play basketball there, however you must be able to pass their entrance exam which is known to be relatively high."

"And they contacted you instead of me because..."

"Because you have not checked your email." his teacher said firmly.

"Man... I'm even dumber than I thought."

"Their coach contacted the coach of our school's team and they had a long discussion about you. And here you are, being presented with a scholarship that pays for your room and food, along with your textbooks as well."

"That's awesome!"

"However," he held his hand up, "this isn't final, until you pass the test."

"Yessir!" Sumio happily saluted as he marched out of the room triumphant.

It wasn't until after the door closed behind him that he suddenly realized...

"I NEED TO START STUDYING!"

***

"Nope..." Tsuki shook her head. "No chance."

"Please!" Sumio begged, "I'll even give you my dessert for today!" offering his pudding cup.

"I'm on a diet right now." she said taking another bite of steak causing Sumio to sweat drop. "Why do you even need to study anyways?"

"So I can get into college?" he offered.

"You've never been enthusiastic about this before." she questioned. "What's the real reason?"

"Nothing... nothing at all!"

"Are you sure you're not trying to get into the same university as Yōu?"

"No!"

"Well, I'm not gonna help you if you act that way. However... I do know a good tutor and someone that will happily help you." she noted, taking his pudding cup from his lunch.

"I thought you were on a diet."

"It's my cheat day." she winked, "Anyways don't you want to know who it is?"

"Who?"

"Yōu."

"Yōu?"

"Absolutely not." Yōu said firmly. They were in the classroom just as the last bell of the day rang, signaling the end of school.

"Yōu... do as I say unless I bring a certain something up." Tsuki threatened.

The look on Yōu's face caught Sumio off guard, a sort of panic filled her eyes. "Fine. Play dirty. I'll tutor him."

"Yay! Thanks so much Yōu!" she ran off leaving the two behind.

"Just so you know, I'm only doing this because Tsuki asked me to." Yōu reminded Sumio.

"Oh yeah I know. It was um, quite obvious ya know?"

She dragged him by the arm, "Come on. Our first study session begins today."

"Already?!"

"You say you need to pass the entrance exam, so we're starting today." she shoved him along despite the boy's complaints.

With his scholarship on the line, Sumio has a long path of hard work in front of him. Will he be able to push through and achieve his goal? Will he and Yōu grow closer?

Only time would tell.

I actually was going to add "find out next time on another episode of Love Live Z" at the end of the last paragraph but...

Anyways! How's it going? Hope you didn't miss me for too long?

Just haven't really found time to write despite the ideas in my head that have been brewing for close to two months now.

Happy summer for those of you in the Northern Hemisphere and happy winter to you people in the land down under.

Hopefully you guys are enjoying yourselves wherever you are.

Be safe! Mask up! Don't be stupid!
