"The thing about kismet is, it's like magic.
You won't realize until it happens, leaving you spellbound."

Chapter 3
"Once we reach Roopgarh we are getting rid of this car!" Raj announced irritably. Yet again, the car had stopped abruptly in the middle of the road, and Kishan - their trusted aid, was busy figuring out what was wrong with the car engine. Meethali and Aastha sat back on their seats with a grunt.
Suraj parked the other car in which the rest of the family were seated, on the side of the road to help Kishan. After a few minutes of frustrating silence, Saanvi jumped out of the car much to her mother Kanika's dismay. "Maa sa, it's suffocating here! I am going out to get some fresh air."
"Kanika, let her go. She is still a child." Jai told his wife when Kanika tried to hold back her daughter from wandering about. Shaking her head, Kanika sighed back into the seat.
Even before Saanvi could pull Aastha out of the broken car, her cousin was already out walking over to the signboard at the crossroad that divided Rudragarh and Roopgarh.

Ancient heritage site - Rudragarh.
Rudgrah is a 19th-century heritage site, that served as the capital city of Malavar. The city was established as the capital of Malavar by the Rajput king Raja Ratan Rajveer Singh, who ruled under the British Raj from 1790 to 1816. It is believed that due to undisclosed reasons, the town was burned down (approx ~1816). There has been no evidence of the reason behind the fire or the lives of people who lived in Rudragarh, including the royals. The entire family of Raja Ratan Rajveer Singh was presumed dead after an investigation conducted by British Raj colonel Henry Jacobs in the year 1817.
While the site is protected under the Indian Heritage Site laws, the partial rights over certain parts of the royal fort of Rudragarh, are retained by the royal family of Roopgarh.
Important note: The entry to the ancient site of Rudragarh is restricted between 5 pm to 7 am. Anyone found trespassing will be lawfully charged.

It wasn't until Saanvi touched her shoulders, Aastha shifted her focus away from the board. "Jiji! Where are you lost?"
Clearing her throat Aastha shook her head, "Nowhere. I was just reading the notice."
Saanvi came forward reading the writings on the board out loud while listing some of the horror stories they had heard since childhood. Aastha, once again found herself drifting away from reality, staring ahead towards the road that led to Rudragarh. She felt as though someone was calling out to her.
