They're meant to cross our path for a reason." -Kathryn Perez

CHAPTER 1
"I can't believe Aastha left without informing me!" Meethali yelled, furiously stepping into the living room while dialing her daughter's number. The "not reachable" automated voice from the other side of the call, infuriated her further.
"Uffo, Maa sa! She has gone to meet her favorite professor, Dr. Gagandeep. Moreover, we are leaving for Roopgarh soon... she wanted to meet him before we left.. and you know how much she adores Gagan Sir!" Suraj explained pacifying his mother.
"But.. with her health.."
"Maa sa, Saanvi is with her and I have sent Kishan too. They will be fine." Suraj placed an assuring hand over her shoulders. "Bhabhi sa.. stop worrying so much. Aastha will be completely fine. The poor child, she hardly steps out of the house." Kanika, Meethali's sister-in-law said.
Meethali sighed, feeling slightly better. "Also, it's more been more than a month since Aastha had an attack," Suraj noted.
"I know... I guess the new doctor's medicines are finally working!" Meethali smiled, but her heart wasn't at peace.

"Jiji.. I will be bored inside. Please let me explore their garden while you go talk to the professor?" Saanvi asked her elder cousin.
Aastha smiled, shrugging her shoulders. "Okay, but be careful."
Saanvi wandered deep inside the huge garden in front of the three-story bungalow of Dr. Gagandeep. A history professor and also a chief consultant for the Archaeological Survey of India.
"Aastha beta! How long has it been? How are you, my dear?" Neelam, Gagandeep's wife greeted her. Aastha took Neelam's blessings before hugging the elderly woman. "I am doing great Aunty! How have you been?"
"I am awesome as always. By the way, congratulations, I heard you scored distinction in M.A!" Neelam beamed at her. "Thank you, Aunty!" Aastha smiled while handing Neelam a huge box of homemade sweets.
"Where is Saanvi, I saw the two of you get in."
"Saanvi is in the garden, you know she is obsessed with plants."
Neelam laughed, "She is doing her final year B.Sc, right?"
Aastha nodded, "Yeah and she aspires to become a Plant Geneticist."
