"Who knows? You may even find your sapnon ka Rajkumar at the New Year's Ball!" Kiara gushed dreamily. Aastha blinked at her and then burst out laughing.

The last few months in Kasauli have been surreal. She was living by herself, although her relatives checked up on her constantly and made sure she spent at least one meal of the day with them. She felt free, and she felt as though she could finally breathe again. Aastha had lived so much more in the last 2 months than in her entire life!

Harika, her colleague had struck an instant connection with Aastha from the day they met and were slowly turning into best of friends. Along with Harika came Karan and his twin, Kiara into Aastha's life and just like that, she made three friends, in an unfamiliar city.

While Saanvi always did what she wanted and rebelled her way through her wishes, Aastha had been a dutiful daughter, bound by the expectations and etiquette of being royalty. Add to that her health condition, she hadn't really experienced the nuances of the simple life. Now, Aastha couldn't have asked for more, not even a prince charming. She was happy with her life.

"I have no sapnon ka rajkumar and I don't plan on creating a fairytale here, Kia!" Aastha laughed.

While she and Kiara sat in the back seat, Harika was in the passenger seat with Karan driving the car towards the nearby town where the resort was.

"Don't say anything about love and tales to her, Kia. Despite being the princess, she isn't interested in any saga." Harika giggled earning a playful smack on the head from Aastha.

"Love stories are decided by fate, my dear friend. If there is going to be a saga, then there will be a saga." Kiara claimed dramatically. Karan laughed, "You girls and fairytales!"

"Hey! Ours is a fairytale! You and I, love at first sight and forever." Harika beamed.

Karana cleared his throat, "Sweetheart when we first met, you threw coffee on me and I hated your guts."

Harika frowned and soon, Karan and Harika got into a sweet bickering leaving Aastha and Kiara entertained with their antics. Theirs was no less than a fairytale. They had bumped into each other at the college canteen when they were studying at a university in Delhi. Harika's coffee was all over Karan's luxurious Beatles t-shirt and his anger was on the tip of his tongue at her clumsiness. There was obviously a nasty fight, followed by some beautiful words thrown at each other.

It was one of those phases for Karan. Just as he had thought his boarding days were over, he had gotten admission at a University in Delhi for his Business studies. Making friends wasn't an easy task for him so whoever lingered in his life, and became an important figure to him. He had friends to impress and appearances to keep. But slowly when the peer pressure made no sense and he started to see the world for what it truly is, Karan stepped out of his zone and his real personality came out. Soon, Karan and Harika found their second chance at fate during their final year and things have only been a happy rainbow since then. For reasons like these and many more, Aastha connected with the three of them.
