Present-day
Aastha stirred in her sleep, her eyes felt too heavy to open up and her head was pounding. There was a faint voice ringing in her head. Aastha stirred again, drawn towards the voice, wanting to know what it was telling her.
'Mohan..'
'I will come for you again MOHAN! And I will destroy you! I will kill you, Mohan! I promise, I will.'
Aastha woke up in shock. Grasping for air she looked at her surroundings. "Aastha! My baby!" Meethali hugged her daughter. Aastha drew sharp breaths and slowly let herself calm down in her mother's embrace.
She looked around and found her family watching her in concern. Her father, her uncle, and her aunt's comforting words enveloped her frenzy heart. Aastha nodded at them but snuggled into her mother's embrace as Meethali held her close. "I am right here, honey! You are safe." Meethali mumbled in Aastha's ears.
Aastha had never felt so exhausted in her entire life. Her mind was a chaotic mess. The only thing that held her together was her mother's warm embrace and soothing words.
It took a long while for Aastha to feel her breathing return to its normal pace. No matter how much Meethali assured her, that she would be right outside the door, Aastha refused to let go of of her. Aastha had a feeling that if she let go of her mother's hand, she would lose her. After what seemed like ages, Aastha finally laid back in the bed, clutching onto her mother.
Meethali sang a soft lullaby putting Aastha into a deep slumber before stepping out. She dragged herself to the living room and found everyone seated.
"Meetha? How is she?" Raj, Meethali's husband asked as soon as she approached the room. Meethali sniffed, walking into his embrace as he held her, rubbing her back. "She went back to sleep."
At about the same time, Dr. Harsh Sinha stepped into the living room along with Vaishali. He greeted the royals before taking a seat on the couch. "Thank you for visiting us last night at such short notice." Jai, Raj's younger brother expressed his gratitude.
"Please Mr. Singh, I am a doctor and it's my responsibility. Also, I have worked with Vaishali on multiple cases. If it's anything to related to her family, then I am available at any time of the day or night. I owe her a lot." Harsh smiled giving a brief nod at Vaishali. Being a doctor he had always supported science. To a certain extent, Vaishali did too. But Harsh had never appreciated her beliefs in presence of something beyond what science could comprehend. The seances that she conducted, and the spiritual techniques that she often used, had always been a sore subject between them. While Vaishali always claimed that every technique, every remedy, and everything that she does might be through her faith but it's always backed by science, Harsh wouldn't agree.
Not until he watched his wife sink into a wormhole that she had weaved around herself. He had assumed it had something to do with her mind. Little did he know, evil existed in the world and it was powerful enough to destroy lives in the most brutal way. Vaishali had brought his wife back to life. She had saved his family from breaking into shambles. She had opened his eyes into a world without filters of limitation and expanded it into the world of all possibilities - good and the bad.
