As the room watched Aastha perform in shocked silence, Veer felt his legs wobble. Something terrible had happened and every part of him told him he was responsible.

200 years ago, Mohan Thakur Singh's fate was sealed. Love, betrayal and evil had overpowered his life. Every detail of his past life came to life, pricking his heart with thousands of knives.

"Rajkumari Avantika was obedient... soft-hearted... extremely beautiful and did everything as told!" Aastha spoke, expressing a doomed fairytale with emotions, eagerness and spirit like it was her life's goal.

Stepping out of the trance, Veer mentally chided himself. Control yourself, Veer! Despite all that he went through, there was one thing he was clear about. Aastha had to be protected. Gathering his wits, he tried to find a way out. He had to get to Aastha or her family and tell them. But tell them what exactly?

"She did everything right, a loyal and dutiful princess. Then... why did she have to suffer? Why... was she betrayed?"

Veer turned around as Aastha's words registered in his head. He watched her and found her staring back at him. The emotions that were etched on her face were alien to him. He couldn't understand. Nothing made sense anymore.

"All she craved was some love. Why was she betrayed?" Aastha asked, her voice raising a little.

"The evil sister, always had to win, isn't it?" Aastha twirled around and fell on the floor. Veer stumbled, almost trying to jump out of the balcony to get to her.

Thankfully the railing stopped him and he drew a sharp breath when he heard her speak again, "The evil sister... the sister who was banished, frowned upon.. born to a witch and yet, remained in the palace, like that's where she belonged."

Suraj clasped his hands against the chair, holding himself back from reaching out to Aastha. If it wasn't for Vaishali, he would have shut down this damn performance. Why was his aunt not doing anything? Why was his family watching everything like it was a movie? Are they not concerned that their daughter might not be alright?

But above all, Aastha's words stirred something inside him. Suraj felt helpless. It reminded him of their childhood. The day Aastha hurt herself and he could do nothing but remain silent.

"This is not right!" Suraj whispered to his aunt. Vaishali's eyes were moist but her stance was clear. "Yes, but we have to see how far this will go"

"Why?" Suraj asked.

"We can't save her until she does what she's set on doing," Vaishali told him.

"She will hurt herself at this rate! Can't you hear the nonsense she is sprouting?" Suraj asked in agitation.

Vaishali faced him, her eyes fiery and sad. "Suraj, whatever Aastha is doing, is not normal. Whatever is happening, let it pan out. I will stop it when the time is right. I promise you, I won't let her get hurt. I promise."
