Damon's POV
I walked toward the lockers, cornering Tara. This time, she had no place to run. "I like you, Tara. I want to be with you. I like seeing you smile and laugh. I like hanging out with you at school. And I liked kissing your soft lips. I want you to be my girlfriend," I confessed.

"I can't. I wouldn't want anything to happen to you if Klaus found out. He would kill you, and then—"

I cut her off by pulling her into a hug. Tears streamed down her face as she sobbed into my chest.

"Do you like me?" I asked, pulling away to look at her.

She hesitated, then whispered, "What about Klaus?"

I held her shoulders firmly. "Do you like me? Don't worry about Klaus."

"Yes... I like you," she admitted softly.

"Then we'll be careful. We won't get caught. Tara, will you be my girlfriend?"

"Yes," she said, biting her lip.

I leaned in to kiss her, but we were interrupted.

"I hope you two sorted out your issues. It was getting awkward," Davina sighed, walking up to us.

I threw my arm around Tara, holding her close. Her heart was pounding loud enough for me to hear.

"We're fine. Right, my little chipmunk?" I teased, making her cheeks flush.

"Yes," Tara nodded, giving Davina a small smile.

The three of us walked to art class together.

Tara's POV
When I got home, I couldn't stop blushing. I kept thinking about Damon. We kissed, and now I'm his girlfriend. I threw myself onto the bed and screamed into my pillow.

I shot upright when I heard the door open.

"Hello, love. How was your day?" Klaus asked.

"It was great," I replied quickly.

He kissed my temple and sat beside me, taking my hand in his. "Love, I want to take you out for dinner."

"Alone?" I squeaked.

Klaus chuckled. "Yes, just us. I think we should get out more as a couple."

I swallowed hard, the word couple making my throat tighten. "Okay."

He smiled. "Be ready by 7."

10 Minutes Later
I stood in my closet, staring at the gorgeous dresses I hadn't worn yet. I didn't want to go on this so-called date, and I didn't know what to wear. I heard the door open and heels clicking toward me. I didn't even have to look to know it was Rebekah.

"Hello, I'm here to help you pick an outfit," she announced.

She sat me on the bed and rummaged through my closet. She pulled out dress after dress, but none seemed to satisfy her. Finally, she found the perfect one—a red, off-the-shoulder dress with an upward-scooping corset.

Rebekah insisted I wear heels instead of my Converse. Reluctantly, I slipped on black, knee-length strap heels.

As I walked downstairs with Rebekah leading the way, I looked down carefully. Stopping at the last step, I saw Klaus turn around.

He looked... hot, in a psychopathic kind of way. He wore a fitted black suit with a red tie that matched my dress. His hair was groomed back with a hint of curl.

Klaus's POV
As I turned, my eyes locked on Tara. She looked stunning in her red dress, her smooth brown skin glowing under the light. She was absolutely captivating.
