Klaus's POV
I rubbed Tara's back gently, making her stir. She was still asleep, her breathing steady and peaceful. I began placing soft kisses along her face until her eyes fluttered open.
"Stop it, Klaus," she sighed, her voice groggy.
I laughed as she sat up, brushing her hair out of her face.
"Come on, get up. It's time for your lessons," I said.
"What lessons?" Tara asked, her exhaustion evident.
She trailed behind me as I led her to Freya's room. When we stopped in front of the door, I turned to see her tired expression.
"You'll be taking lessons from Freya—witch lessons," I explained.
Tara looked at me incredulously. "I'm not a witch, Klaus."
"You never know," I smirked, opening the door to Freya's room. Freya stood near a table, sorting through a collection of herbs. I gently nudged Tara inside and closed the door behind her.

Tara's POV
I let out a frustrated huff, annoyed with Klaus for dragging me here. I approached Freya hesitantly, watching as she worked with various herbs.
"Could you hand me that lilac from the shelf?" Freya asked, gesturing to a nearby bookcase.
I walked over and picked up what I thought was lilac, handing it to her. She smiled, grinding the herbs together and adding milk to the mixture. She muttered a quick incantation before pouring the concoction into a small vial.
Freya placed the vial on the nightstand near the bed and clasped her hands together with a bright smile. "Now, let's get started."
She guided me through some basic spells, but nothing seemed to work until we reached the last one. Freya grabbed a pillow from the bed and sliced it open with a knife. Feathers spilled across the room as she spread them out.
"Now close your eyes and let the magic flow," she instructed.
I shut my eyes and focused, but after five minutes, frustration boiled over.
"I can't do this," I muttered, sighing heavily.
Freya's laughter made me open my eyes. "Look," she said, her voice brimming with excitement.
I glanced around the room and gasped. The feathers floated mid-air, along with the herbs on the table, the lamps, and even Freya herself. When I stood up from my chair, everything fell to the floor with a loud thud.
"I knew you could do it!" Freya beamed. "Now, let's clean this up—Keelin should be home soon."
We tidied up, returning everything to its proper place. As soon as I opened the door to leave, Klaus was standing there, his arms crossed.
"So, how did it go, my love?" he asked with a teasing grin.
"Well, I learned at least one spell," I admitted.
"Really? And this from the person who swore she couldn't do magic," Klaus teased.
I rolled my eyes at him as we made our way to the dining room, where the rest of the family was already seated.
⸻
As we ate, Kol glanced at me with a mischievous grin. "So, darling, I hear you practiced magic with Freya today. How was it?"
"It was good. I learned one spell," I said with a smile.
Kol looked genuinely shocked, which only made me smile wider.
"What kind of spell did you learn?" Elijah asked, his voice calm and curious.
"She learned a levitation spell," Freya chimed in.
We continued eating, and once everyone was finished, I stood to head back to the parlor. Klaus grabbed my hand before I could leave.
"Where do you think you're going?" he asked with a playful pout.
"Elijah and I were going to discuss the chapters we read," I explained.
Klaus sighed dramatically. "I wanted to watch a movie tonight."
My heart softened at his words. "How about tomorrow night? I'll spend the whole evening watching movies with you," I offered.
He smiled faintly. "Fine. But you need to be in bed with me by eleven," he whispered into my ear.
Blushing, I nodded and made my way to the parlor.

Klaus's POV
I watched Tara walk down the hallway toward the parlor. Elijah stepped out of the dining room, adjusting his tie.
"Brother, you're spending far too much time with my fiancée," he remarked, his tone even but his words sharp.
"Really? If she remembered everything, would she truly want to be your fiancée?" Elijah's jab struck a nerve.
I grabbed him by his tie, slamming him into the wall. "I will dagger you. Don't test me, Elijah," I warned, my voice low and menacing.
"Fine, brother," he sighed, adjusting his suit as I stormed up the stairs. I slammed my bedroom door behind me, leaning against it as my eyes burned gold and my fangs descended.

Elijah's POV
Once Klaus stormed off, I straightened my tie and composed myself. Entering the parlor, I found Tara already engrossed in her book.
I sat beside her, smiling as I watched her read. "What did you think of the chapters?" I asked.
Her rosy lips moved as she spoke, her eyes lighting up with excitement. She was utterly captivating.
"Elijah? Elijah?" Her voice snapped me out of my thoughts.
"I have to go," she said, standing up. "Klaus wants me in bed by eleven."
"Of course he does," I muttered under my breath.
Tara smiled warmly. "I'll see you tomorrow."
As she turned to leave, I took her hand and kissed the back of it, locking eyes with her. "Goodnight, Tara."
I watched her leave, listening for the sound of her closing the door to her and Klaus's room. Once she was gone, I collapsed onto the couch, leaning my head back.
"What am I going to do now?" I whispered to the empty room, gripping my hair in frustration.
Images of a life with Tara filled my mind—reading books together, traveling the world, sharing quiet moments.
"La donna più bella del mondo," I murmured, staring at the ceiling, consumed by longing.
