Freya's POV
"WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU ALL? HE IS OUR FATHER!" I screamed at Klaus and Rebekah, my voice breaking with rage. Marcel held me back as I glanced between our beaten father and my unrelenting siblings.

Rebekah stepped forward, her face hard and unmoving. "You know nothing of what this man has done," she snapped, her voice trembling with anger.

Klaus moved closer to our father, gripping his chin firmly. Our father knelt on the ground, vervain-laced chains weighing him down. Klaus's lips curled into a sinister smile.

"What kind of sick, twisted mind games did he play on you?" Klaus sneered, his dark gaze flickering toward me.

Tears streamed down my face. It had been centuries since I'd last seen my father, not since Dahlia had torn me away from him.

"My Freya," he whispered, his voice weak yet filled with longing.

The room fell into a heavy silence. Klaus suddenly broke it with a burst of harsh, hollow laughter.

"Well," he drawled, "I'll give you time to catch up. Stay with the man you call a father—this so-called monster. Reminisce while you can. Because tomorrow..." Klaus leaned in close, his voice low and cold. "Tomorrow, I will kill him."

He turned and stormed out, slamming the door behind him. I collapsed to the ground, sobbing as I cradled my father in my arms.

Tara's POV
"What's wrong?" I asked, concern lacing my voice as I looked at Elijah's troubled face.

"Are you alright?" he asked, his eyes scanning me carefully, searching for any signs of harm.

I waved my hands dismissively. "I'm fine. Klaus healed a couple of scratches, but I'm good."

Elijah sighed, his expression filled with guilt. "I'm sorry I couldn't protect you."

I reached out, cupping the side of his face. "Elijah, I'm not dead, nor am I seriously injured. None of this is your fault," I said gently, offering him a small, sad smile.

He returned the smile, though his eyes remained heavy with worry. For a moment, we just stared at each other, a quiet understanding passing between us.

The sound of a cough broke the moment, and I quickly dropped my hand. We turned to see Klaus standing in the doorway, his eyes dark and his jaw clenched.

"Klaus," I said, my voice unnaturally high. I fidgeted with the hem of my shorts, an unexplainable guilt settling over me.

Klaus ignored Elijah completely, stepping into the room and stopping in front of me.

"We'll see you tomorrow," he said to his brother before pushing me gently back into the room.

Davina sat on the bed, her damp hair clinging to her shoulders.

"I've changed my mind," Klaus said, still looking at me. "Davina, Kol has called for you."

"So?" Davina shot back, crossing her arms.

"Please," Klaus said, forcing a smile that didn't reach his eyes.

Klaus's POV
"What's wrong?" Tara asked, her voice soft.

I repeated her words with a sigh. "What's wrong?" I paused. "Nothing."

I couldn't let her see my turmoil. If I let myself unravel, it could scare her—and worse, trigger memories she wasn't ready for.

"If there's nothing wrong, then I'll go check on Davina," she said, moving toward the door.

"Wait," I said, grabbing her hand gently. "I just... I need you to stay with me tonight. I feel more relaxed knowing you're next to me." My voice cracked slightly, a calculated move to appear vulnerable.

I felt her heartbeat quicken. "Okay," she said softly.

She led me to the bed, and we settled in, her back pressed against my chest. I sighed, the tension in my body easing slightly as I held her close.

Kol's POV
I heard a knock at my door and grinned, knowing exactly who it was. I opened the door to see Davina, her small frame drowning in one of my oversized black shirts and a pair of my boxers.

"So, what's up, Kol?" she asked, her tone sharp.

I let my eyes drift over her before she snapped, "Eyes up here."

"I'm glad you decided to stop by," I said, leaning casually against the doorframe.

"Klaus said you needed to see me," she replied, squinting suspiciously.

"Oh, darling, you shouldn't have left that room," I said with a sly grin.

"What do you mean?" she asked, folding her arms and arching an eyebrow.

"Well, Klaus is probably sweet-talking your friend right now. And if I had to guess, she's sleeping in his bed tonight," I said, my tone teasing.

Davina rolled her eyes, her nose scrunching in annoyance.

"Not that kind of sleeping," I clarified with a chuckle. "I mean, he can't fall asleep without her anymore."

Davina tapped her foot impatiently. "Where am I supposed to sleep, then?"

"With me," I said, spreading my arms dramatically.

"Not in a thousand years," she snapped.

"I can wait that long," I shot back with a smirk.

She looked away, but not before I caught her eyes drifting over my bare chest. I had just showered, wearing only pajama pants.

"There's a couch in here," I said, stepping aside to let her in.

She sighed. "Fine. But if you touch me, I'll sic Marcel on you," she said with a wicked smile.

I chuckled as I closed the door behind her. "As if Marcel could ever hurt me, darling," I thought to myself.

Freya's POV
"Father," I whispered, tears streaming down my face as I cupped his gaunt cheeks. His body was weak, the vervain in his system preventing him from healing. He couldn't hold me, but he pressed his forehead to mine.

"Are you okay?" he asked, his voice trembling.

"I'm fine," I replied, choking back a sob. "But what about you?"

"They did this to me," he said, his voice dripping with hatred.

My eyes widened, my stomach dropping. I rose to my feet, my head spinning. "Why were you helping those witches? They were going to hurt Tara," I demanded.

His face darkened, his eyes falling to the floor. "I thought it would hurt the bastard," he muttered, lifting his gaze to meet mine. The expression on his face was one I'd never seen before—cold, calculated.

I took a step back, shaking my head. "You're wrong," I said, my voice breaking.

I turned and left the room, his screams following me. Tears blurred my vision as I walked away.

"I've never seen him like this," I thought, my heart heavy. "But he's still my father... and Klaus's."
