Kol's POV
Davina sat awkwardly on the couch, wrapped in the blanket I'd given her. I leaned back on the bed and said, "You know I'm not going to try anything."
"You won't get the chance," she replied, settling into an awkward position that allowed her to keep an eye on me.
"Lights on or off?" I asked.
"Off," she muttered.
I smirked. "Just like me. We're soulmates." I flipped the switch, casting the room into darkness, and climbed into bed.
There was a pause before I teased, "I can feel you staring at me. If you want to join me, I've got a spot just for you."
"I'm good right here," she said firmly.
An hour later, her breathing slowed, and I knew she was asleep. I got out of bed and approached her, noticing how twisted her position was. "That's going to hurt tomorrow," I thought.
Carefully, I peeled the blanket back and lifted her into my arms. She stirred but didn't wake as I carried her to my bed. Once I'd tucked her in, I laid down beside her, a grin creeping across my face.
"This is going to be fun to explain in the morning," I mused before drifting off to sleep.

Freya's POV
I sat in the dining room, my hands trembling uncontrollably. Above me, the chandelier swayed slightly, reflecting the turmoil within me. I clasped my hands together, trying to still them.
"Control your emotions," I told myself sternly.
I sighed and buried my face in my hands. The sharp click of heels echoed as someone entered the room.
"What happened to him?" I asked without looking up.
Rebekah sat down beside me, her face calm but weary. "Where should I start?" she said softly.
She toyed with her bracelet as she began. "Father always hated Niklaus. He beat him regularly, but it got worse after we turned."
I looked at her, waiting for her to continue.
"One day, Klaus and Henrik—our youngest brother—ventured beyond the village and into the woods. Back then, we didn't know about werewolves. We only knew there had been attacks on our people."
Her voice faltered for a moment. "A wolf attacked them. They tried to run, but Klaus stumbled down a hill, and Henrik... fell. He broke his neck."
I gasped, my heart aching at the revelation.
"When Father found Klaus, he saw his bones breaking—his first turn as a werewolf. That's when he realized Klaus wasn't his son," Rebekah said, her voice trembling as a single tear slid down her cheek.
"So, we had a younger brother," I whispered.
"Yes, but no one talks about him. It's a sore subject for everyone, especially Nik."
"And Father hates Klaus because he's not his son," I said, my teeth clenched in anger.
Rebekah nodded silently.
"I understand why you hate him now," I said, gripping her hand tightly. "But do we have to kill him?"
Rebekah hesitated before looking up at the ceiling. "We could try convincing Klaus, but—"
"I know he won't," I interrupted, standing from my chair.

Davina's POV
I felt the warmth of sunlight on my skin, stirring me awake. The surface beneath me felt firm and solid, warmer than expected. I smiled, basking in the comforting sensation.
"I'm glad to see you enjoy sleeping with me," Kol's accented voice broke the silence.
My eyes flew open, and I sat up quickly. Kol lay propped against the headboard, grinning at me.
"I was laying on his chest," I realized with horror.
"Did you move me here?" I demanded, glancing at the couch where I had fallen asleep.
Kol raised his hands in mock surrender. "I didn't do a thing, darling. In the middle of the night, you must've gotten cold and wandered into bed."
I rolled my eyes, exasperated. Getting up, I grabbed my things and made a beeline for the door, determined to find Tara.
After walking down the hallway and passing a few doors, I stopped at Tara's room. Knocking softly, I waited for her to answer.
⸻
Klaus's POV
A knock at the door pulled me from my half-asleep state. Carefully, I moved my hand from under Tara and got up to answer it.
Davina stood in the hallway, her smile quickly fading into an expression of horror.
"What do you want?" I asked groggily, leaning against the doorway.
"I need to see Tara," she said, trying to peek past me.
"She's sleeping," I replied, glancing back at her curled-up form in bed.
"Could you wake her up for me?" Davina pressed, folding her hands.
"No," I said bluntly. "She needs more rest. She'll be downstairs in two hours. Goodbye."
Before she could argue, I shut the door in her face, chuckling at her muffled stomps as she walked away.
I climbed back into bed, and Tara shifted, nestling against me.
"Who was that?" she murmured, still half-asleep.
"No one," I whispered, kissing her forehead. "Go back to sleep, my love."
She sighed softly, her body relaxing as I traced circles on her waist, lulling her back into slumber.
⸻
Anna's POV
I sat on the ground, my knees pulled to my chest, tears streaming down my face. My husband stood nearby, his eyes fixed intently on the door.
"Our baby is gone," I whispered, my voice breaking.
He knelt before me, cupping my face in his hands. His expression was a mixture of determination and fury.
"We're not giving up on her," he said firmly. "Somehow, we'll find a way out of this. We'll get our daughter back, and that bastard will pay."
He pulled me into a fierce embrace, his words filling me with a glimmer of hope.
⸻
Klaus's POV
"I'll have to deal with our parents today," I muttered to the empty room, staring at the ceiling as Tara slept peacefully beside me.
