I fixed the strap of my white contrast lace backless top slowly gliding down my arm. I didn't anticipate for this date so I made a less effort on how I want to look for this meeting with Brian. My high waist jeans complemented my top with my white stilettos for my casual and youthful look for today.

Ilang spray lang ng paborito kong pabango sa leeg ko, handa na ako para sa lakad. I smiled at my reflection in the mirror and checked my face in different angles. When it satisfied me, I got my purse and walked out of my room.

Brian texted me last night to confirm if I'm going or not. Matagal na rin kaming hindi nagkita. He might not be the real love I had in my younger years but for somehow, I wanted to honor my relationship with him in the past. I had also to admit that he helped my family years ago and returning to his invitation for a date is the least I can do to compensate everything he has done for me. Especially to acknowledge his feelings.

Isa pa, wala na rin sa isip ko na may malisya ang pagkikita naming ito. Maayos siyang nag-aya kaya wala akong karapatan na tumanggi lalo pa't wala naman akong nakikitang masama.

This should not bring me harm. Or any trouble possible. Kung mayroon man siyang kinakasama ngayon, siguro ay naipagpaalam niya naman ang date na 'to ng maayos. O kung alam niyang magagalit man ang mahal niya, he should have not invited me for a simple dinner at all!

I am free and always fine with dates like this. This is my first date after a long time of ignoring invitations. For some reason, I look forward to it.

Nagpaikot ikot ako sa bahay para hanapin si Ryleigh, sa labas ko lang din nadatnan. I cleared my throat as I went near him. He got paused on his tracks when his phone beeped. Papasok na sana ng bahay nang natigilan para balingan ang cellphone na tumunog.

"Rai?" mahina ang boses ko sa ginawang pagtawag, nag-iingat na baka maistorbo siya sa pagbabasa ng mensahe.

Umangat ang tingin niya sa akin. There was a bit movement in his brows when his eyes checked my look. He seemed confused that I am dressed so well, baka nakalimutan na aalis ako.

"Tutuloy ka sa... date mo?" sabi pa niya.

Napakurap kurap ako. So he remembered? Pinagtakhan tuloy ako kung para saan ang kuryusidad niyang 'yon. I have a hint, but I don't want to assume. Why would he be confused if I go on to the date? I don't remember refusing to Brian.

"Oo. Babalik din agad ako mamaya."

Nahuli ko siyang magsusuplado sana pero agad lang ding nabawi ng seryosong ekpresyon ng kanyang mukha.

"Saan kayo magdedate?"

Ngumuso ako.

"Sa Palmes."

He slid his phone in his jean's pocket, the one near his buttocks.

"Bakit sa Palmes? Malayo mula rito, Sanja."

Pinangunutan ako ng noo sa nahimigang pait sa tinig niya. Okay. Is he trying to stop me from leaving?

"Saan ba dapat kami mag-date, Rai? Malayo din ang Solarez. Mas lalong hindi pwede sa Davao. Palmes is the best place we have in our choices since he is there already."

Nagtaas siya ng kilay, parang nanghahamon.

"Our choices?" he mocked my tone. "That means you have a choice, too? At iyon ang pinili mo."

"Of course I have a choice! I do have a say. Date namin 'to kaya pinaluluguran din ni Brian ang mga gusto ko para sa lakad na 'to," tuluyan na akong pinagtakhan sa nagiging daloy ng usapan.
