Chapter thirty five

"I'm so happy for you..." Jelena said with teary eyes. Of course, she's rooting for this and it finally happens.

"Thank you for everything, Je. For supporting always and has your back... then until now." I said while my eyes started to tear up. No words can forecast how much she meant to me... She's been my comfort when Stacey decided to run away.

"Don't make me cry! Is not that you're going anywhere!" She pouts. I laughed and wiped my tears. We talked for a while and decided to eat in an Italian restaurant. I order 2 slices of lasagna and a strawberry shake.

"Beach tayo," sabi ko habang naghihintay kami na mag green light. Napalingon siya at tumingin sa kaniyang relo. It's 7PM in the evening and we out early. She think first before she agree to go. Mga around 10PM ay dumating na din kami at saktong sakto may banda. Humanap kami ng upuan at umuorder ng martini.

Pagkatapos naming makinig sa banda ay pumunta kami sa dalampasigan dala-dala ang dalawang bote. Naka anim na bote na kami kanina sa mesa pero dinagdagan namin. Umupo ako at hinayaan tangayin ang buhok ko. Umupo sa gilid ko si Jelena at tinali ang buhok niya.

The sound of the calming waves gives me goosebumps and comfort. The stars that are twinkling above the sky are mesmerizing as they are, I love seeing stars because it reminds me that I survive today, this day, tomorrow, and yesterday. That I'm still able to see them twinkling and shining every night. 

It shines just like us, shining through all the time.

"Are you happy?" Je broke the silence. I glanced at her and a smile formed on my lips.

"Deeply," I replied. Remembering all those happy moments that happen later. I never thought that I would be this happy again... that I would be happy again after all I made it through.

"I'm so happy too... Because finally my prayer has been answered. I waited for this moment, Vin... I want you to be happy because you deserve that after all the shit you've been through. It's already enough for you to achieve that happiness." She said gently. My eyes began to water as the cold wind hugged my skin. I look at her and caught her staring at me with tears in her eyes.

"Seeing you this happy makes me happy too because finally, my best friend has found her peace." I hugged her tight and started to sob. I heard her sob too but she keep on tapping my back. After our drama, we decided to go home and pay for the drink we drank it was getting late already. 

I told her to drop me at Daile's house after that she went home. I already texted Stacey that I'm not going home tonight she agreed with it since she wasn't going home too.

When I arrived at his house I saw him sitting and his head leaning on the couch with his eyes closed. He opened his eyes when he heard my footsteps and he glanced at me and warmly smiled.
