"Natsu!" You call out, gripping the necklace in your fist. 'Why am I shaking?'
'I shouldn't doubt him.'
"Yeah?" He appeared in the doorway. "What's...up?" He trailed off when he noticed you near the counter.
"That's a very pretty necklace." You cautiously said, forcing out a tiny smile.
"It is?" Natsu asked, perking up. "You really think so?"
You nod. 'So I can take this two ways..'
'...As the jealous girlfriend, or the understanding one.'
You force a smile. "Yeah! It's really really cute. Is it for Lucy?" You casually ask.
He looks surprised, but quickly regained his cool. His surprised expression was gone in a blink.
"No, this one isn't for Lucy." He said, looking down at the necklace. You offered it to him.
He took it from you. "This one is for someone else. She's really special to me, but I don't think I'll give it to her anytime soon."
Your heart fell when he mentioned she was someone special. "Tell me about her. She sounds like a fabulous person." You falter, covering it up with a laugh.
"Yeah. She's pretty cool." A silent veil fell. "Crap, I need to get the food!" Natsu suddenly panicked, his eyes widening.
He scrambled back to the kitchen, his voice hollering, "I need water!!"
'Damn. I didn't inch it out of him.'
___After Meal___
"Pfft. Shut up." You laugh, completely pushing the thought of Natsu's 'special girl' to the back of your mind.
"It's true!" Natsu argued, pushing Lucas on the swing outside. "It's not true, really!" You raise your head from the ground.
"(Y/N)...to tell the truth, I need to leave for training. Fairy Tail needs me." He broke the playful atmosphere.
"You're...what?" You ask, your eyes widening.
"You're leaving?" You ask, suddenly stepping away from the swing. "I'm sorry." Natsu murmured, still pushing the oblivious Lucas.
"Let me go, too."
He turns pink with happiness. "I thought you would say that. But you can't. I'd love you to come, but Lucas can't stay with anyone. It's unsafe."
"I-" You started, but halted. You gaze down at Lucas, who was still laughing gleefully, as he swung up and down.
"How long are you going to be gone..?" You return your eyes to Natsu.
"Not sure. It might be a month at least." He looks at you, his eyes filled with sadness.
You panic. "A mo-" You were about to start shouting, but Natsu clamped his hand over yours.
He pointed at Lucas, who was entertaining himself with the slide on the playground.
"Not around the kid." He smiles.
"Sorry." You apologize. "But a month? I'm not missing out on anything too important, right?" Your eyes searched Natsu's.
"At least a month." He reminded. "It's nothing too important. Don't worry.."
"Is everyone else going, too?" You give a little sigh.
"Yeah. Everyone. Erza, grandpa, Gray, Lucy...everyone."
