John walked inside the flat, greeting Sherlock with a mumble and not looking in her direction. He was too concentrated on what he had in his hands to look up. He was replying his friend Lestrade, who had just sent him a hilarious text that made him snort in the cab which made him receive a strange look from the cabbie.

He placed his phone in his pocket, turning to see Sherlock only to find her asleep on the couch with a book in her hand and papers scattered around her. The book was 'The Fault In Our Stars', one he had given to her as a Christmas present last year.

John gently grabbed the book from Sherlock's grip and held it open. He saw small pencil scribbles drawn in the margins. John looked closely and smiled when he saw the scribbles. She wrote the logic reasons to everything the characters said that made no sense logically. Every. Single. One.

What surprised John was that nearing the end there was nothing. But he noticed the page was slightly wrinkled from water stains but John knew it wasn't water. They were tears. John instantly felt guilty for being the one who brought Sherlock to tears. Or atleast giving her something that brought her to tears.

John flipped to the last page and saw a drawn chat bubble with the words "Okay, John Watson? -SH" in Sherlock's handwriting. John smiled, closing the book and placing it on the table.

He wrapped Sherlock in a royal blue blanket and placed a kiss on her forehead, not wanting to wake her since she rarely slept that week. He walked to his room and fell asleep almost instantly.

Sherlock blinked awake and rubbed her hands over her eyes sleepily, sitting up with a yawn. She noticed her book had a pen between the last page and the cover and made a move to remove it, only to notice something was written under what she had written.

"Okay, Sherlock Holmes. -JW".
