Sherlock angrily punched the machine, kicking it a few times in frustration. Molly and Lestrade held their laugh in as they patted her shoulders.

"At least you tried." Molly said, doing her best to sound sad for Sherlock.

Sherlock stared at the toy she wanted, the ball of fur pressed up against the glass of the machine. It was too far for the crane to get a hold of it and when it did, the crane just let go before even lifting it.

"I want to break this machine." She protested, looking at her remaining two dollars. "Perhaps no one will notice." She muttered thoughtfully.

She looked up suddenly at a new voice behind her, a hint of a smile growing on her lips when she heard the franticness. "Whoa whoa whoa, no one is breaking anything! I am not going to pay for any damages!"

The trio turned around to look at John Watson, who was holding a few tokens in one of his hands.

"Hello, John." They all greeted simultaneously, causing John to lean back slightly in surprise. John greeted each of them, giving Lestrade a hand shake while giving Molly a kiss on the cheek and a peck on the lips to Sherlock.

"What is it?"

"Sherlock has been trying to get that toy hedgehog." Molly explained pointing at the toy, Lestrade looking away as he laughed silently. "For the past hour."

John let out a laugh, wrapping an arm around Sherlock's waist as she pouted and crossed her arms childishly.

"Why would you want a toy hedgehog?" John asked, giggling with Lestrade and Molly before looking up at her.

"It reminds me of you." Sherlock mumbled lowly, only John hearing her as the other two laughed. John instantly felt guilty and hugged her close to his side.

"But you've already got me." John whispered to her, Molly and Lestrade talking amongst themselves. "Why would you need reminders?"

"You won't always be there." Sherlock said sadly, looking down at her shoes. John only frowned and pressed a kiss on her temple, running his hand up and down her arm comfortingly.

The duo in front of them instantly noticed the sad atmosphere and tried to lighten the mood. "C'mon guys, let's go eat some pizza!" Lestrade suggested excitedly, rubbing at his belly lightly. Molly nodded in agreement, looking at the couple for answers. Sherlock and John shared a look before both shrugging and voluntarily letting themselves get pulled by their friends.

~A few weeks later~

"John, what's in the box?" Sherlock asked curiously, staring at a small cardboard box with holes on the top. John smiled, placing it on the bed and gesturing her to open it. Hesitantly, she lifted the top off and gasped at what she saw.

In the box lay a small hedgehog on a baby blue blanket, a plush version of it laying by its side. The hergehog stared back at Sherlock, sniffing the air before it yawned adorably.

"I figured, you know, since you told me-" Before John could complete a sentence, he was tackled to the ground and attacked with millions of kisses.
