John received a text-message from Sherlock while he was out buying milk which read:
Help. 221B.
Nonetheless, it brought John to panic seeing the shortness that was not accompanied by her initials.
Sprinting up the stairs, John Watson breathed heavily, his cane forgotten and a gun in his hand. He broke down the door to the apartment, his gun ready to fire. John noticed how Sherlock's coat and boots were at the door and another coat was hanged there. John leaned his head slightly towards it, sniffing it and receiving the aroma of a man's cologne. He searched the living room, not finding anything but a few misplaced blankets on the floor and on the sofa. John searched the kitchen, finding teacups in the sink and a carrot on the counter with a knife beside it.
He searched the bathroom and found nothing. His heart pace quickened when he neared the bedroom, placing his hand on the knob and slowly twisting it. He pushed the door open gently and his eyes watered at what he saw.
Sherlock lay on the bed with a man standing next to her bedside. The man gently placed a bunny on her head, stepping back to see the result. On Sherlock were dozens of chicks, ducklings and small bunnies. John covered his mouth as a snort escaped and he bursted into a fit of muffled giggles.
"John!" Sherlock whispered, trying not to wake the two bunnies asleep on her chest.
"Sherlock, what is the meaning of this?" John whispered back once he'd caught his breath, looking down at his feet that now had a bunny laying on it.
"I was going to do an experiment, John. I was going to inject rabies to these poor creatures and see how they reacted towards each other. Balthazar here changed my mind." Sherlock gestured to the brown bunny laying on her chest beside the white one.
"Who is this?" John gestured to the man, who was cradling four ducklings.
"Oh, he's the delivery man, Dean. He brought the ducklings and small chicken." Sherlock explained before the bunny on her head slowly fell forwards and into her hands. "I bought the bunnies."
Sherlock noticed John's wary look and sighed, rolling her eyes. "John, he's a homosexual."
John's shoulders relaxed before he bent down to pick up the black bunny on his foot. Dean placed the ducklings on Sherlock's legs and walked over to a cardboard box.
"This is very strange. Even for you, Sherlock." John said as he scratched behind the bunny's ears, causing it to get sleepy.
Dean then turned around and was holding a very small ball of fluff in his hands. Sherlock noticed instantly and her eyes lit up.
"Is that what I think it is?" She whispered excitedly. Dean smiled and placed the fluff ball in his hands to Sherlock. She held it with both hands, a huge smile in place.
"What is it?" John curiously made his way next to Sherlock, sitting down on the bed careful not to sit on any ducklings, bunnies or chicks.
The ball of fluff in Sherlock's hands turned over to reveal a small face staring back, two tiny beady eyes and a tiny nose. It blinked and walked in the tiny space it had.
"It's a hedgehog!" Sherlock squealed happily. "When I ordered them by phone, they said there weren't any left!"
"I made a few stops. The boss told me to find some but I could only find one. Totally worth 50 bucks." Dean said, smiling proudly. Sherlock smiled and pet the hedgehog.
