John walked out of the kitchen and watched Sherlock pluck her violin gently, her eyes distant as she was lost in her train of thought. John cleared his throat, successfully earning her attention.
"Would you like to go to dinner with me later?" John asked, his hands fidgeting with the hems of his jumper. Sherlock cocked her head to the side, staring at John amusedly.
"As in a date?" She asked, a small grin spreading in her face when John's cheeks turned crimson.
"Y-Yes, a date." John stuttered out, moving his feet in place.
Sherlock smiled fully, giving John a toothy grin. "Of course, John. I would love to go to dinner with you."
John looked slightly surprised, considering Sherlock didn't like going out unless there was a case to solve. "Oh. Well, okay then." He turned to the door and left but before he was past the doorframe, Sherlock saw him fist pump and whisper 'yes!' to himself in victory. Sherlock giggled, placing her violin next to her armchair before heading to her room.

John picked a gray dress shirt and put on his usual jacket. Sherlock was hearing her signature coat and scarf. For some reason, they didn't want to wear anything different, wanting to go as comfortable as possible.
The couple took a cap to the restaurant, Sherlock finding out it was an Italian restaurant. They had their meal, the date went great. Although when it was time to leave, neither of them were expecting rain. Neither of them took the liberty of carrying an umbrella, Sherlock's thoughts instantly drifting to her brother, the idiot that always carried an umbrella.
Waiting outside of the restaurant, the couple got really close, John hand around Sherlock's waist and her own around his back to conserve as much body heat as possible.
Two men approached them. One of them was dressed in a suit and glasses while the other one was wearing sneakers, baggy pants, a hoodie and a baseball cap over his head. The one with the suit holding an umbrella over their heads and a closed one in his free hand while the other man carried a pug in his hands. The man with the suit casually handed John the umbrella, grinning at his confused expression.
"You two seem like you need it." He said, answering Sherlock and John's unasked question. "Cheers." He said, walking off fashionably before he could be thanked. Both men talked lowly to one another, the one carrying the dog making more gestures as he spoke.
Sherlock and John shared a look before shrugging and pushing the umbrella open.
John held it over their heads, his other hand grasping Sherlock's hand. They walked onto the side of the street, Sherlock taking the umbrella from John so he could wave to a cab, neither of them wanting to let go of each other's hand.
"Strange how you haven't complained about the rain." John commented as a cab drove past them rudely. "You always do. Especially when you're wearing your favorite boots."
"I bought another pair of the same boots. My favorite ones are at home." Sherlock said distractedly, John turning his head to her in question. "I didn't know where we were going, I wasn't going to risk ruining my boots." She explained, causing John to chuckle.
"Also the rain makes you look more lovely." Sherlock added quickly. A smirk grew on John's face, him giving Sherlock's hand a slight squeeze.
"Have you been checking me out, Sherlock?" John asked, his smirk turning into a genuine smile when he saw Sherlock's face turn scarlet.
"It wouldn't be the first time." Sherlock said, turning her head to John, who widened his eyes in surprise.
"Mrs. Watson!" John yelped before Sherlock leaned in and gave him a kiss on the lips.
"Yes, Mr. Watson?"
"N-Nothing."
