~Amelia~
"So, why exactly do you want more protection for your Titan? I can't imagine that anyone would want to harm it," Erwin inquired after Amelia had told him her demands.
"I don't think that I need to answer that. I've given you your information and this is what I'm asking for in return," Amelia deflected. She wasn't sure how to explain that she knew Annie was going to kill Hange's prized Titans imminently without looking suspicious.
"I suppose." Erwin shrugged it off. "As you have requested I will increase the security where your Titan is being held. If your intel turns out to be true, we can discuss any further adjustments you may have as long as you provide me with further information.
"But I think that concludes our discussion. I have another meeting on the hour so, I will have to ask the two of you to leave." Erwin announced, glancing at the grandfather clock in the corner of his office. Bringing her attention to the time, Amelia realised that his next meeting was in five minutes.
Satisfied, Amelia obliged Erwin's dismissal and got up from her seat. "Ah yes, of course. Thank you for making the time to meet with me today, Commander," Amelia flashed him a courteous smile. Internally, she was exhausted and proud of herself for handling the situation nicely. She had been a little rocky at the start but, Amelia was beginning to believe that she had a knack for bargaining.
"You're welcome, Amelia. It was my pleasure. As I said before, I shall eagerly wait for the moment when I can open your note," he replied. Erwin got up too and headed for the door.
Amelia followed behind Levi who had been eerily quiet this whole time. She knew that he had been listening as his eyes had followed whoever had been talking like he was observing a tennis match. Yet, he had kept silent that whole time despite the looks of disapproval he had sent her way a couple of times.
"Thank you again, Commander. I hope the rest of your day is agreeable," Amelia said as she exited the door Erwin was holding open for them.
"Likewise. I hope we didn't bore Levi too much with all of our talking," he chuckled. "Actually, quickly before you go. I think that Hange wanted to meet with you again today. I'm sure that Levi won't mind escorting you over to their lab before he has to go train with the cadets." Erwin gave Levi a mischievous smile, leaving Amelia to question how much Levi hated being assigned to her.
Levi threw Erwin a glare, glancing over at Amelia. "Let's go," he huffed at her, brushing past Erwin and heading in the direction of Hange's lab. Amelia politely lowered her head a little to Erwin as she left, speeding up to catch up with Levi.
"Do you need to walk that quickly?" Amelia called out to him.
Despite being around the same height as her, Levi managed to keep a few paces in front. Levi didn't respond, but he did slow down a little. He still kept in front of her, but the gap between them had lessened.
Eventually, they arrived at the lab. Amelia realised the reason for Levi's speed after they had arrived at the complete opposite side of the Survey Corps' building. Amelia wondered if the distance between the two rooms had been on purpose. Erwin was the most important person here and keeping him away from any potential failed experiments was a good idea.
Upon entering the lab, Amelia was shocked to see another person already present with Hange- apart from Hange's assistant Moblit. The boy was a similar height to Hange with chestnut brown hair and shining emerald eyes.
"Ah, Amelia," Hange pushed past the boy as they came over to greet her. "I'm glad that you got my message from Erwin. I can't wait to start more experiments with you today." Dark circles hung under Hange's eyes. Amelia could tell that Hange had continued to work through the night after they had parted yesterday.
