~3rd Person POV~
After regrouping, Levi's squad minus Levi and Amelia blasted off in the direction they'd last seen the wagon. They flew through Trost district, soaring over the buildings with ease. Until Connie spotted the three unconscious soldiers, being whisked away by Kenny Ackerman's people.
"Hey! There goes Eren!" Connie called out, bringing everyone's attention to the left.
A wire shot out from a distance, dragging Levi into view. He gracefully let himself be pulled towards the wagon, blood dripping down his face from the encounter with his former guardian. A person approached him from behind, pulling out a gun and aiming it at him. They fired, missing him thankfully.
"What the hell!" Jean exclaimed, a look of horror gracing his features.
Levi acted quickly, aiming his manoeuvre gear onto his assailant, one of the wires gripped into the person's waist. It hurtled the two towards each other and Levi readied his swords, slicing the assailant as they passed one another.
Every scout apart from Levi appeared horrified, never having seen people killing other people so brutally before. Levi landed on the side of a building, turning back to face his squad.
"Chase the wagon!" he ordered, launching off the building and speeding off in front of them.
An array of green soon followed closely behind him. They were close enough now that the people in the wagon urged the horses to speed up.
"Listen up!" Levi grabbed their attention away from the wagon. "These people are used to killing others. They've already got three of ours." There was a round of shocked gasps. "If we're going to get those two back, don't hesitate! If you get the chance, kill. Do you hear me?" Levi barked at them.
Mikasa's face turned to stone. "Got it."
Unsurprisingly, Levi was the first one to launch himself towards the wagon. He dramatically dropped onto a nearby market stall, using the fabric covering it to give him a boost and made it to the wagon. He used the same trick he'd used before, hooking one of his wires into one of the people and yanking them off. However, another person only replaced the man and Levi was being pursued again.
"Armin, Jean!" Levi called for backup. "Secure the wagon! We'll cover you!"
"Yes sir!" Armin didn't hesitate to do his job whereas Jean was the opposite.
"Another one dead..." Jean trailed off, clearly absolutely horrified at what was going on.
"Jean!" Armin barked at him, breaking him away from his terror.
Landing successfully on the wagon, Armin and Jean watched Mikasa knock down the person who was manning the horses. Jean aimed one of his swords at them. "Don't move!" he commanded unconvincingly.
The person scoffed at him, taking advantage of his hesitation. Pulling out their gun, a bullet was let off. Yet it wasn't from their gun but another's, Armin's. The person's body went slack, tumbling to the ground in front of Jean. Armin had saved his life but at what cost?
There was a slight pause. Armin was aghast, repulsed at his actions whilst Jean was having an inner turmoil of his own. This pause was long enough for three more of Kenny's comrades to approach from behind.
"Shit! Jean! Armin!" Levi yelled at them.
Levi and Sasha dove down to the wagon, Levi grabbing Jean, Sasha, and Armin. Kenny's comrades landed successfully on the wagon which was now only a few metres away from the exit to the Trost District- meaning their plan had turned out to be another failure to be added to the list.
