~Amelia's POV~

A few hours passed after the chaos. I spent the whole time tending to the wounded with my modern medical knowledge. Hange's eye was unsavable as it had completely caved in itself. I tried my best to clean it up as I could but I had two other patients to deal with too.

I looked down at Sasha and Armin who remained unconscious. Sasha had been badly injured so I tended to her at her side. I had checked on Armin too, but he was physically fine, just mentally exhausted from his transformation. Tightening Sasha's bandages, I secured them together with a safety clip. I managed to stop the bleeding after stitching her back up and disinfected it as best I could with the tiny amount of medical supplies we had left. Pushing myself up from my knees, I walked a safe distance away. Then, I sloshed some rubbing alcohol on the bloodied fabric I had used to clean the blood away. Grabbing my makeshift firestarter, I ignited them, discarding them off the side of the wall.

"Good work," Eren appeared at my side, offering me his waterskin. I gave him an appreciative look, taking a large gulp of the water and using the rest to clean my dirtied hands. "Any idea when Armin will wake up?" Eren's gaze moved to his sleeping friend.

"Soon, he's just sleeping so he should wake up of his own accord," I replied, heading back over to check on Sasha again. Her bandages remained white this time, making me sigh in relief.

Collapsing down next to her, I attempted to stretch out the strain in my back. Miraculously, I had survived this whole thing. What were the chances out of the hundreds of people that we came here with that I was one of the ten who remained? I felt extremely lucky but also guilty that so many people had died for my survival. Was this how everyone else felt after each expedition they went on? Depressed and like I wanted to throw myself off one of the Walls?

Then, my eyes jolted to a movement in front of me. Armin was sat up but his eyes were unfocused and glazed over like he was still sleeping. It kind of freaked me out a little until he snapped out of it at the sound of Sasha's voice.

"It hurts.. so bad..." she complained in her sleep, her eyebrows scrunching together in pain.

"Sasha!" Armin explained, examining his injured friend next to him.

"Don't worry about her. She'll be alright," I told him making him finally notice my presence.

Armin appeared startled, evidently having no memory of how he got here. However, just as I opened my mouth to try and explain the situation, Eren's voice bellowed over at us. "Armin!"

He quickly jogged over to us, immediately enveloping his friend in a tight embrace. I shut my mouth, not wanting to interrupt the sweet moment.

"I'm so glad that you're okay," he started to weep in relief. Armin was bamboozled, utterly unaware of the situation he was now in.

Prompted by Eren's shout, I heard a wire land nearby, hurling somebody up the Wall. Everyone else had gone to search for any more survivors. In truth, everyone was restless and too haunted by their thoughts to sit and wait around for Armin to wake.

"You're awake?" Levi greeted, stalking his way over to Armin. Again, he was always one for a dramatic entrance.

"Captain!" Armin exclaimed. "What on earth happened here? I remember Bertholdt turning into a Titan and then... What about the others? Is everyone alright?"

"That's as far back as you remember?" Levi commented, sliding a green flare from his pocket and firing to signal everyone else. "Eren, tell him everything."

After a long-winded explanation, Armin was finally up to speed. "Are you telling me that all that's left of the Scout regiment is the ten of us here?" His expression was blank, his mind still processing the information.
