~3rd Person POV~

A bright, golden light enveloped the entirety of the cavern. It reflected harshly off each of the crystalline structure, blinding it's inhabitants. Driven by hopelessness, Rod Reiss had licked the discarded Titan spinal fluid from the floor and transformed himself into a Titan. And a giant one at that, rivalling the colossal Titan. He was so enormous that as he continued to grow, the crystal cavern was collapsing around him.

The Scouts had managed to find where Eren, Historia and Amelia were. Unfortunately, their only way to them was blocked by Kenny's comrades. Not only did they need to save their three kidnapped friends before the cavern crumbled, but Hange had been severely injured and needed immediate medical attention.

"Captain!" Armin shouted at Levi. "It opened!" Armin pointed the rockfall off to the side of them that opened a once closed off exit. Levi took one look and Hange and knew what they had to do.

"Armin! Moblit! Take Hange and get the hell out of here!" he ordered them.

Meanwhile, Kenny, who still carrying Amelia over his shoulder, reacted a little late to the giant Titan that appeared in front of him. He quickly tried to fling the two of them into the air to avoid it, but failed to do it quick enough. Burnt by the scorching steam coming off Rod's Titan, Kenny's grip on Amelia loosened and she went plummeting down to the ground. Not the escape that she'd hoped for, but an escape nonetheless. Amelia hit the floor painfully, she too was burnt from the steam and a couple of bones were undeniably broken from the crunches she'd heard upon impact. Other than that, she was okay, and grateful to be alive at the very least. Once the steam had cleared a little more, she noticed that she had landed closer to Eren who was still remained chained to the pedestal.

"Forget it, Historia! Since that Titan's from the Reiss family, just let it eat me! Get out of here! Save yourself!" Eren begged Historia, his voice hoarse from all the crying he had been doing. These events had been his breaking point and in his current state, he didn't care if he lived or died. But both Amelia and Historia sure did. With his Titan-shifting abilities, he might be there only way out of the crumbling cavern. Especially since Amelia couldn't move herself anymore. She tried to scream at them, but with everything that was going on, her voice was drowned out. Eventually, she gave up and watching Historia and Eren from afar, hoping that at least those two could get out of here in time.

"No!" Historia demanded, ignoring his words completely. Instead, she was focusing on trying to find the right key to unlock Eren's restraints.

"Why won't you just listen to me?" He pleaded again with a large sob.

"Because even if I'm supposed to be your enemy, you were my comrade first. I'm not the obedient daughter that my Father wants me to be. I refuse to become a God that won't save humanity! Instead, I will become the person that sticks up for others who don't feel like they aren't needed, like I once was. No matter who they are or where they are, I will save them!" Historia had finally had a breakthrough and realised her worth. Just because she carried the Reiss blood, didn't mean that she had to carry on the one hundred year lie. She was her own person, both Christa Lenz and Historia Reiss at the same time and she would use her power for good and fight for the freedom of humanity.

Historia tried her best to free Eren despite the steam from her father's Titan trying to push her away. He was even protesting her choice when he wasn't conscious. She fought against it as hard as she could, however, it was too strong and she was propelled backwards. Fortunately, someone came out of nowhere and managed to catch her before she was slammed into the walls behind her. Looking up at her rescuer, she recognised the black bob immediately, Mikasa.

"Give me the keys!" A different voice called out to her, Connie. Historia immediately chucked the keys at him, getting herself off the ground and thanking Mikasa. Levi and Jean then appeared, holding Eren down steady so that they could unlock the rest of his binds. Rod Reiss had certainly tried to ensure that Eren wasn't going anywhere.
