~3rd Person P.O.V.~
Dazzling light surrounded Amelia. Eren and Annie dissipated revealing what had happened underneath the veil of smoke. The Scouts looked at them with a mix of emotions. A lot of things had just happened within a short amount of time.
Annie was crystalised, something that Amelia had known deep down was inevitable. After all, it was a huge part of the original plot which meant it probably had to go unchanged. Eren was tired, and his titan was dissolving around him. Amelia was unconscious but unharmed on the floor, next to where Annie was. Despite all of the crazy events that had just unfolded, there was something much crazier looking down on them.
There was a Titan's face in the wall.
The secret was finally out, their sacred Walls were made out of hardened Titan skin. Hange was delighted with the news, raving about their theories to all of the fatigued soldiers around them who just looked like they wanted to go home. Levi didn't want to admit it, but he was also in a stupor. He knew that this event would change the simple world that he lived in. A world where Titans were simply the enemy of humanity. With the existence of Titan shifters, seemingly friendly Titans and now Titans in the Walls, he wasn't quite sure who his enemy was anymore.
Levi pushed away his thoughts. His mission was to protect Amelia and he hadn't exactly been doing the best job at it. But was it his fault when she decided to fling herself at any sign of danger that came her way?
Zipping into the sky, Levi swung himself over to them. Hissing in pain as he did. He'd managed to injure his leg amidst all of the happenings with Annie. It was nothing in comparison to the injuries he'd sustained in the past, so he pushed on.
Mikasa caught his eye as she was running over to Eren to help him out of his Titan. He knew that he could entrust her to do that. Instead, he focused on Amelia.
She was unconscious and in a precarious position. Her hand had merged with the hardened skin that Annie was encased in and it was as hard as nails.
"How on earth shall we get you out of this one then?" Levi huffed, going over to her limp body.
Testing to see if the crystal would break, Levi used all of his strength to try and shatter it. His blades shattered with a horrible twang upon impact. Scratching his head, Levi tried to come up with a quick plan to separate Amelia from Annie. Whilst he wracked his brain, he resorted to simply grabbing her shoulders and pulling to see if that would make any difference.
Surprisingly, the pair of them came tumbling to the ground as Levi had used all of his strength when he pulled her. Perplexed, Levi observed the crystal. There was an arm-shaped hole where Amelia's hand had been through to the unconscious Annie. This quickly sealed itself up like a scabbing wound in the blink of an eye.
Levi did not have the energy to ponder what had just happened and turned his attention to the sleeping person sprawled in his lap. He slid her out from underneath him, hoisted her up and threw her over his shoulder.
Glancing over in Mikasa's direction, he was glad to see that Eren was free from his titan and coming around. Which meant less work for him to do.
In the distance, he saw a group of people approaching them through the lingering dust in the air. Erwin was the first person who emerged. Naturally, Levi went over to him with Amelia on his shoulder.
"I can't say that that went well," Levi said to the Commander with a deadpanned face.
"On the contrary, Corporal. I think we've just shown that we earn our keep," Erwin had a smirk on his lips despite all of the chaos that had gone on around them. Erwin has earned Levi's respect over the years they'd known each other but, that didn't mean that he liked him all that much.
