Summary: The group you were camping with suddenly left you in the driest forest. A forest that is prone to catching fire.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Before going to college on the beach, you lived in the Midwest where is was always cold and never had any good waters to hang out on. Plus, you really needed to get away from all that negativity back home so you applied to California State University Long Beach. The weather was perfect, you got to study on the beach, and you were hoping a new change would help you make some new friends.

It was like nothing had ever changed because the people here treated you like they did back home. While you were trying to figure out what you wanted to do in life, they were calling you names behind your back, and judging you before ever getting to know you. So, when the popular group of people in one of your classes asked you if you wanted to tag along on a camping trip in the driest forest ever, you couldn't help but say yes. Maybe this was their way of apologizing for how they treated you.

Something told you that they were planning something mean.

It's why you were afraid to go to sleep well after everyone else did. They didn't want you here, you could tell that much. Everyone was laughing with one another, drinking the alcohol they bought, and rarely paid attention to you. The only other time they talked to you is when they asked you for help in putting up the tents.

The fire was dying out quickly, and soon you would get enveloped in darkness so it was a good time to go to bed. Maybe things might get better by morning once everyone had a good night sleep to relax. Yeah, that's what'll happen.

Yeah, right, you're kidding yourself if you think that's what's going to happen.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The chirping of the birds is what woke you up. Ah, another day, another chance to try and make things right with the group. It was strangely quiet for 7 in the morning. Outside of your tent, you could only assume what was going on based on what you heard, and you didn't hear much.

Getting up, you unzipped your tent to see nothing. No tent, not sleeping bodies, no car. They left you and went back home or to another campsite. This is what they were planning all along. To get you up here then leave you all alone to fend for yourself. Since one of the other guys drove up here, you didn't know which way the road was, much less how far you were from the safety of your own dorm.

Oh man, how were you ever going to go to class again? How were you going to face them? You could just see their faces all smug and giggling as the thought of leaving you all alone in a highly combustible forest. There hadn't been a lot of water this past year so the nature around you was suffering because of it.

A part of you wanted to be super pissed that your group stranded you in the middle of nowhere, but you loved being one with nature. It was always peaceful to go to the park near college early in the morning to just listen to the trees wake up. Well, if you wanted to get back you would have to do it on your own. No point in wasting time just sitting here.

Packing up the tent, you made sure everything you brought could fit into one backpack. Luckily, they didn't take your belongings or else you would have been screwed. Maybe they thought if they disturbed your tent while they were leaving, they'd risk you waking up catching them in the act.
