Pairing: Dean Winchester x Female!Reader

Warnings: fluff

Summary: Castiel knows you like Dean and he likes you. He decides the best thing for you two is to put you two in a room and force you to confess. How will that go?

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

You can do this. You can beat Dean's record. The stop watch is on the table next to you, and you click the button before going in for another round. You grab your prized possession–the gun Dean gave you on your birthday–and begin to take it apart in the way he showed you. Your fingers expertly remove the magazine, sliding the bullets out of it. As soon as you got all the components out on the table, you quickly reassemble it together, slapping the stopwatch to stop it before you can add any more time onto your record.

Thirty seconds.

"Damn it!" you yell loudly, hitting the surface of the table.

You're about to restart the stopwatch when you notice movement out of the corner of your room. You quickly grab your gun and turn to the stranger, pointing it at them and shooting twice. Dea's taught you many things, and one of them is to shoot first and ask questions later. However, when you see who it is, your eyes widen.

"Oh no, Castiel, I am so sorry."

You drop your gun and rush over to him, making sure he isn't bleeding out or anything.

"It's alright Y/N. It didn't affect me."

"Still. I didn't mean to shoot you. You know what happens when you sneak up on me," you sigh.

"My apologies."

"What do you need? You don't pop in for just anything."

You head back to your desk and pick up your fallen gun on the way.

"I found a case, and I'd really appreciate it if you assisted me on it."

"You mean you assist me?" you joke. "I'm down for a case! What are we killing?"

"I'm not sure, but it looks to me like cursed objects. This is all I found on it."

He hands over a file full of pictures from an auction house. There are items on display, and one of them seems to be cursed according to Castiel. He's been trying to be more helpful, so you're taking his word that this is a real case.

"Alright, you've convinced me. Though, you should listen to me more on this hunt. Remember last time? You almost got me killed, and I can't die knowing I still have things on my bucket list. Remember that list? You made one with me."

"I remember the list," he chuckles. "I promise to listen to you."

"Great! Give me one hour and I'll meet you by the car."

"I need to do some things first. The address is inside the file. I will meet you outside the auction house. Don't worry."

"Okay. Are Sam and Dean coming?"

'I'd rather have them not know. I want to prove myself by doing this case with you."

"You don't need to prove anything to us. You're part of the family. I'll pray to you when I get there if you're not already there."

"Sounds good. Thank you."

Castiel leaves you alone to get your things ready. He hides the smile threatening to come out as he searches for the older Winchester. He reaches inside his trench coat and pulls an identical folder like the one he just gave you. Dean is in the kitchen cooking burgers for the whole family, whistling as he does so. He turns and places a cooked burger onto a plate when Castiel walks in.
