Summary: It's yours and Misha's first date, and you're amazed at how natural this is for you two.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It's always a scary thing to look at your best friend and see something more than what they are. Never did you think you would ever have romantic feelings for your best friend, Misha, but here you are, on a date with him. It's only been twenty years that you two have known each other, and you've seen him with girlfriends and a wife, but none of them ever stuck around. He had two beautiful children with his wife, but she left him for another man.

You can't see why anyone would want to let go of someone like Misha, so it's her loss.

He's seen you with boyfriends plenty of times, but it was okay since he never saw you in that kind of light. Something must have changed, but you can't quite put your finger on it. Misha's always been Misha, but now you're finally able to see what his wife saw in him when they met.

You think that this would be awkward, but you already know everything there is to know about him. You love him dearly, so you can skip that awkward phase out of the way. He's always been there for you as you were to him.

If this doesn't work out, then you'll go back to being the best of friends. You're not worried about losing him as a friend completely. Part of you wishes this would work out because he's the best guy you've ever met. Part of you wishes that it wouldn't so you won't lose a really good friend.

Only time will tell which direction the both of you are going in.

"If I'm being honest, I thought this was going to be weird," you say after you've both put your orders in.

"If I'm being honest, so did I."

"Then I realized it's not so weird because you're my best friend."

"And you're mine," he grins.

"If Jared or Jensen knew we were on this date, they would freak."

"I think most people would. We're known to the world as best friends. I've talked about my ex-wife and ex-girlfriends to fans at conventions. I doubt they won't be supportive, though. I'm just glad I'm here with you instead of anyone else."

You two have never shared a kiss before, but you're suddenly wanting to right now. You glance down at his lips to let him know that you're thinking about his kiss, but the food comes. Of course, you'd be interrupted at this moment. The waitress sets down the food, and your mouth waters at the sight of sushi. You absolutely love the food because you can do so much with it. There's a bunch of different kinds of sushi, and you love experimenting with it. The only thing missing is a fork since you don't know how to use chopsticks.

"Excuse me? Could I get a fork, please?"

"Of course," the waitress chuckles.

"Let me show you how to use them," Misha offers, scooting closer to you. He breaks open your chopsticks and grabs your hand, positioning them how they're supposed to be. "All you do is move these two fingers, and grab the sushi."

You try it on your own, but the sushi roll flips and falls back onto the plate. Misha chuckles and lets you try again, holding your hand with his so he can guide you. Still, the same result happens.

"It's okay, Mish, I'll just use a fork," you giggle.

"No, we're getting this. Let's try the rubber band trick. Do you have an elastic?" You reach into your purse and hand him a hair tie, and he tis the end of the chopsticks so they won't pull away when you try to use it. "Okay, try again."

This is a lot harder than before since your movement is restricted. Instead of dropping the food, you crush it between the chopsticks.

"Misha, this is hard," you laugh. The waitress comes back with your fork, and you gladly put down the chopsticks. Misha is a giggling mess at your failure, and you hit his shoulder with a pout. "Don't be mean."

"I'm not. I'm sorry."

He looks into your eyes and impulsively kisses you. It's unexpected, but it's a good kind of surprise. His lips are unusually soft considering they're always chapped. He pulls away after a few seconds, and you can't seem to wipe the smile that's on your face.

"I love you."

"I love you too."

It feels natural and simple, and you're glad this is so easy for you two.
