Summary: Dean isn't a hunter, but you are, and you're trying to keep this life from him as best as you could.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Getting home late wasn't an unusual thing for you. Monsters didn't care what time of day it was, they were still going to kill people until they were stopped. Almost always, you were covered in blood, guts, or any other kind of liquid. Normally, you would go home, take two or three showers, and then go to bed. However, after meeting and dating Dean Winchester, you had to be a lot more careful when you come home and what you do. He wasn't a hunter and didn't know of anything about this life, and you wanted to keep it that way.

There was already too much death and depression that normally came with the job, you didn't need to add Dean into the mix. He was such a pure soul and had a compelling personality, you didn't want to see what would happen if the lifestyle were to taint that. However, it's been getting more and more difficult to hide anything from him since he's moved in with you. His brother, Sam, lived close to you, which is why he thought it was a good idea for him to move into your house rather than the other way around.

Luckily for you, Dean was with his brother right now, which gave you the freedom of washing off vampire gore before he came home.

Vampires were your easiest monster to kill since you've had a lot of practice with them. When you were first starting as a newbie hunter, you thought you would go on a hunt alone rather than with an experienced hunter to a nest of vampires that was too large to take down by yourself. At that age, you were cocky, and you thought if you could take them all down, then your mentor would be so proud that she would start to let you do the harder stuff.

When you got there, you didn't know that two nests merged into one, so it was a lot bigger than you realized. You would have left and come back with more help, but you had already killed five of them before realizing there was so much more. It was too late to back out because they had already heard you after the sixth kill. They started to fight back, of course, but you managed to kill about half of them when your mentor and her team barged in. The vampires realized they were outnumbered and escaped, but not without saying something that sent chills down your spine even to this day.

"We will be back, and we will get our revenge."

Your mentor was so pissed that you went out on your own that she didn't even look at how many of them you killed on your own. Ever since that day, you've been trying your best to make her proud. Even after she died, and you had enough skill and knowledge to continue on your own, you still wanted to make her proud which is why you've been tracking those same vampires for more than ten years.

You've killed a lot of monsters along the way, but you've managed to gather enough intel on these vampires to know where they were going to hit next. As to not raise suspicion with Dean, you wanted to propose a trip to the town so you could be closer and work it from the inside. You figured you could distract him with a movie (since he always falls asleep at them), or you could take him somewhere where he wouldn't notice you gone for a few hours.

You hate lying to him, especially when he's been nothing but truthful to you, but you couldn't tell him about this. He seemed like he would be a terrible hunter because he couldn't follow directions that well. He liked to do things on his own with his own terms, and if he were to use that logic while hunting, he would die. You knew this because you were like that before. It took a lot of death and destruction for you to finally learn your lesson. Dean just wouldn't be able to survive out there.
