"No, you can't go," you faked a nasal voice. Dean would never do this, but if you were sick, Sam would stay home to take care of you while Dean worked a case alone.
"Are you okay?" Sam asked, dropping his bag on the floor to tend to your needs.
"You seemed fine last night," Dean commented.
"I started throwing up in the middle of the night. I guess I ate something bad," you complained and leaned into Sam's lean body.
"This hunt needs my attention, at least," Dean sighed. "Sam can stay with you. I'll call a hunter nearby that can help me."
"Are you sure you're not feeling well?" Sam asked, not wanting to abandon his brother.
"I'm, a little achy. My stomach hurts really bad."
"Okay, I guess I'll stay," the younger brother announced, grabbing his bag to put back in his room.
"I'll call in a couple of days with updates. Feel better soon, Y/N," Dean spoke as he walked up the stairs and out of the Bunker.
"Go in your room, I'll bring in something light to eat," Sam instructed, going to his room to put away his things. Once he was out of sight, you ran to your room to get ready. Lying to the brothers never made you feel good, but you had a good reason to keep Sam from the hunt. There was a reason you stopped hunting and that was because you broke your leg so badly, you weren't able to use it the same way again. Your hands shook whenever you held a gun, and if you stood for too long, your bad leg would start to get numb. That injury was caused by a stupid mistake you made while on a hunt with the brothers.
Sam and Dean were careful men, but they were humans and humans always made mistakes. Watching Dean leave, you kind of felt bad for letting him walk into his doom while keeping Sam safe here with you, but you had a more affectionate soft side for the younger brother. He was the one that took care of you when you had your injury.
Day in and day out, he was right by your side, bringing you food when you got hungry, helped you bathe when you couldn't do it on your own, read you stories when you got really sleepy and stayed by your side just to keep you company. After all that, you developed a bit of a crush on him, but you never could tell him. It would change things and you were terrified if it would be a good change or a bad one.
Sam was a big man, and you more often than not heard him before you saw him. Hearing his heavy footsteps come down the hall made you rush things. Makeup was perfect and your skin was hot from the bundle you had been stuffed in before you got out of it. Getting into bed, you placed the covers over you just as Sam opened the door.
"I hope this doesn't upset your stomach too much," he smiled, placing the tray of food on your legs as he took a seat on the bd.
"Thanks, Sam," you whispered.
"It's so weird. What did you eat last night that caused you to be like this? We all ate the same thing."
"I don't know. I mean, I had a different drink than you. Maybe that was it."
"Yeah, maybe. Since I'm not out with Dean, I think I'm going to do some research for him in the library. Just text me if you need me."
"No, please don't go," you grabbed his hand. "Do it in here. I just don't want to be alone."
