Warnings: fluff

Summary: Jared is having a hard time trying to come up with another game idea for his company. Luckily, he has you to help figure it out.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Grabbing the bowl, you began mixing the ingredients needed to make your special cake. Jared has been working hard at his job, and you thought his favorite cake would cheer him up and congratulate him for developing three very successful games. When you two met, he was a student learning to be a game developer since he loved playing games and has always wanted to create one.

With a lot of hard work, he was finally able to finish up with his third game but was having difficulty coming up with a fourth idea. He dabbled in different genres with his first game being a shooting game that was very popular in teenage to young adult boys, his second game was an app for phones and tablets which was a surreal and calming video that helped with anxiety, and his third game was meant for anyone that loved horror. It was a game as scary as Amnesia, which got a lot of popularity in the YouTube community for YouTubers.

All month, he had been trying to come up with an idea that he hasn't done so that he could propose the idea to his boss in the next meeting in two weeks. He's been stuck in his study all day and night which didn't bother you since he needed to get work done, but you hoped that this meal would cheer him up a bit.

All your life, you have been told that your cooking skills were meant for the big shots. Being a chef is one of your dreams, but you never could get that far in life. There was always a problem opening up a restaurant, getting a job, or having professional chefs try your food. As much as you would love to be a chef, you loved being Jared's wife even more.

Every month, you and your husband would host the neighborhood barbeque where anyone of all ages would be able to come and have fun. Your neighbors all enjoyed your cooking, they had a ton of fun with the games you set out, and the kids were never bored. Every time you hosted the barbeque, there had been at least one person who worshiped the ground you walked on because of your cooking.

It brought you joy to see people enjoy the food you made, and that was rewarding enough. A restaurant didn't need to be in your life to make you happy. Having this family around you was everything you could have hoped for.

After finishing with the batter, you began to prepare it for the oven. As soon as it was in, your phone rang, letting you know someone was calling you. Jared had heard you cooking in the kitchen, and when your phone rang, he looked at the time to see that hours had passed without an idea coming to his head. This meeting was in two weeks, and if he didn't have a working proposal, then he would be toast. Everyone was expecting him to come up with a great idea like his other three successes.

He had gone through 20 different sheets of paper, all of which ended up in the trash can. They were either not a good idea, not developed well enough, or didn't really have an end goal in mind. He really wanted to make you proud of him, and not having an idea kind of spoiled his mood. You were working hard in the kitchen to make him a good meal, and yet, he couldn't come up with a good enough idea to bring in the money.

"Babe," you said as you approached the door to his study. He looked up from his computer and forced the sour look on his face to go away. "Trisha just called and asked when our next barbeque was going to be. She even went as far as to ask how I made several of my dishes. I mean, I know I'm good, but it's not like I can post tutorials on how to make my meals."

"Wait," Jared sat up straight, an idea popping into his head. He scribbled something on the piece of paper in front of him so he doesn't forget it later when he comes back to it. When he finished, he go up and walked over to you, kissing you tenderly on the lips.

"You just gave me the best idea."

"What?" you chuckled.

"A cooking game not like any other before. A cooking game for kids who want to learn how to cook. It will be a game where your choices matter. If they screw up the dish, it will show which can give kids a chance to learn from their mistakes."

"Honey, that's a great idea!" you grinned.

"Thanks to you. I was about to start pulling my hair out. It felt good to finally get an idea on paper. I know I've been cooped up here all day, but I'm ready to shower you with love and affection," he smiled widely.

"I like the sound of that. First, why don't we have the dinner I cooked. I made your favorite meal since you've been working so hard in here."

"I love you," he sighed happily as he gave you a kiss.

"Save that for later. Right now, food," you smiled before walking with your husband to the kitchen.
