Alexandria opened her sharp green eyes to see a she was in complete darkness. She sat up and switched on the lamp. The small room illuminated to reveal the yellowed peeling blue wallpaper. She sat up and groaned as she looked out her window and saw the sun slowly climbing up over the horizon. She turned her lamp off and swung her legs over the rickedy bed. Her life was hell and she wished everyday to be adopted and now she was 13. She stretched and yawned then stood amd walked to her closet and dressed in a plain black dress that reached her knees, the log sleeves complemented her slender arms, and the neck line was to her neck. She slipped on a pair of plain black flats just as the door slammed open. Alexandria stood up straight with her arms at her sides. Madam Vivian strolled in carrying a picture made by a child. "WHAT IS THIS?!" Alexandria looked up at the picture and saw it was a crude drawing of herself levitating a cup. "It seems to be a picture drawn by a child." Madam Vivian growled and slapped the girl across the face. Alexandria took a deep breath and looked back up at the fuming women. "Its just a picture, Madam." Alexandria showed no fear. "A CHILD HAS SEEN YOUR FREAKINESS!!" She blushed. "It was an accident, I was-" Slap. She huffed. "Slap me one more time and I will personally remove that wrinkled old hand." She snarled. Madam Vivian threw the paper down in fiery. "How dare you?!" The women moved to slap her again but Alex caught Madam Vivian's wrist. Her emerald eyes glowed dangerously. "Listen here, you old bitch! I have taken so much bloody crap from you and this bloody orphanage BUT NO MORE!!" Alex grabbed Madam Vivian by her throat. "No one would miss an old hag like you if I just... snapped your neck." She hissed the last bit. "So, you must be Ms. Octavias." Alexandria quickly released Madam Vivian and whirled around to see an elderly man standing there in an old english midnight blue suit. "Who the bloody hell are you?!" She demanded testily. The man smiled cheerfully. "I am Albus Dumbledore and I am headmaster of a boarding school that helps children, like you, with special abilities." Madam Vivian pushed past Alexandria. "You can't take her unless you adopt her." Madam Vivian said firmly. Alex crossed her arms. This was the part that he would decline and bid them a good day. Alex was use to the disapointment. Albus smiled softly. "But of course, dear. One of my employed teachers is willing to adopt her and is downstairs filling out the paper work as we speak." That seemed to spark something in her chest that had long ago been snuffed out. Hope. Madam Vivian disappeared out of the room leaving her and Albus alone. "So... I really am being adopted? This isn't some cruel joke?" Alex said as she uncrossed her arms slowly. Albus moved forward and put his hands on her shoulders with a sincer look on his face. "Yes, Ms. Octavias." And for the first time in years, Alexandria broke down into joyful tears as she threw her arms around the old man, hugging him so tight that she was afraid if she let go, she would wake to find this hadbeen a cruel dream. Albus hugged her back and chuckled softly at the girls antics. She pulled away and wiped her eyes. Albus shut the her door and turned back to the girl. "Now, do you know why you can do things that no other child can?" Alex shook her head, too afraid her voice would fail her. "You, Ms. Octavias, are a witch and you are going to a school that will help teah you how to control and use magic." The look of skepticalizim appeared on Alex's face. Albus smirked and then her closet was suddenly set on fire. Her eyes widened as the fire went out and the wood seemed untouched. "Wow... " She muttered. Albus clapped his hands. "Now! How would you like to meet your new gaurdian?" The excitement lit up her face like a firecracker but she quickly masked her expression with a passive one. This caused Albus to smirk. It reminded him of the mood Potions Master. He led Alex out of her room and down the hall. They walked down a staircase that led to the main floor where someone was filling out the last form. Alex felt her excitement grow as the person turned and stood there in an emerald dress and coat. It was an elderly women with a stirn expression and piercing eyes. Albus smiled. "Alexandria Octavias, I would like to introduce you to Minerva McGonagall. She will be your new guardian untill you turn of age." Alex couldn't speak. She was afraid she would wake up. The women gave her a tight lipped smile. Alex opted for simply nodding. "Well now we have pleasantries done, we should be going." Madam Vivian stepped in front of her and smiled. "I shall miss your oh so comforting face walking down these-" Slap! Alex smiled with satisfaction, ignoring her stinging palm. "That was for all those times you abused me and told me 'no one would want a freak like me'... Goodbye Madam Vivian." Alex gave the women a toothy smile as Vivian held her stinging cheek. Alex side stepped her and followed the man and women out.

Alex followed them to an ally where she was told to hold onto Albus and Minerva's arms. She them felt as if she was being sucked through a tiny tube and landed on grass. She swayed and felt queezy but shook it off. She looked up and was in awe as she saw a giant enchanting castle. "Ms. Octavias... I would like to welcome you to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry." They led her past the gates and up to the castle.

They were walking toward Albus' office when Snape came around the corner. "Albus, I-" He stopped in his tracks as Alexandria stopped in hers. Their eyes met and time seemed to slow to a stop. Alexandria's heart sped up as they held each others gaze. He looked away and she mentally shook herself when Albus was saying something. "-Minerva is Ms. Octavias' new guardian, Severus." Snape looked back at the girl and sneered. "Oh so you have found the blood suckers child." Alexandria gave him a confused look. "Blood suckers? Child?" She was puzzled but quickly put it together. "You knew my parents?" Snape looked at Albus in realization as Albus and Minerva shot him glares. "Who were they? What did they look like? Where are they? What happened to them? Why do you call them-" Albus silenced her by raising his hand for her to be quiet. "All these questions will have answers soon enough but for now we must get you settled, child," Albus turned to McGonagall. "Minerva will you show Ms. Octavias her room?"

"Certainly Albus. This way, dear." Minerva started to walk down the hall and past Snape but Alex didn't budge. "I demand to know." She hissed. Snape glared and took a step forward, his robes billowed around him with an aurar of superiority. "Just like your Father. Agressive... demanding... he kidnapped your mother off these very grounds. He even turned her into a monster like himself. No doubt they passed it on to you when you were bor-"

"Thats enough, Severus!" Albus barked, cutting him off. Alex was stunned. Monster? Blood sucker? Were- Were her parents Vampires? She shook her head and moved forward quickly, grabbing Snape's wrist. She gasped as she was sucked into his mind. She saw a red haired girl, that looked very similar to her except for the her cheeks, being drained by a man that must have been her Father. She pulled out of the Snape's mind and gasped for air. The man looked at her in disbelief as Alex swayed. She almost fell to the floor if Snape haden't pulled her to his chest and held her by her waist. She looked up at him and passed out.
